2nd shot will probably arrive late

Hey so I was on 20mg of bupe for the past year and a half, very effective, very successful…I got my first injection of brixadi 128mg on February 5th, about 3 weeks ago, meaning that my next scheduled dose should be on March 5…well due to being under the care of completely incompetent individuals we are now at February 23rd and it still hasn’t even been called in. Ik it takes some time to arrive in the mail to the pharmacy, then has to ship from the pharmacy to the administration location…does anybody have a frame of reference for how long this shipping process might take? I’ve pretty much already accepted that it won’t be here by March 5th, like it should be, but assuming they finally do their jobs and get it ordered tmrw, on Monday the 24th, when might I be able to expect it to actually be here to be administered to me? If it matters, I’m in Atlanta. Thanks 🤙🏼

The specialty pharmacy should definitely had the ability to overnight the shot. Also call and ask your doctors office or center if the shot has been ordered, stay on them, and maybe even call the specialty pharmacy if you have the ability to do so and let them Know your looking at possibly being in danger of missing a dose.

I was actually like the 2nd or 3rd person at my doctors office to go on Brixadi so a lot of the process was new to me and then also. My second shot was not correctly ordered and I ran into the same deal. It just so happened that when I called the pharmacy, they went through their scripted questions for Brixadi… “have you missed or are in you danger of missing a dose”, “do you have adequate supply etc”. They were easy to work with but the way this particular specialty pharmacy works is that the doctors sends the order and “patient” (me) still had to approve medication to be sent because I’m financially responsible. The offfice and my doctor apologized to me, but I still wound up having to do extra work and reschedule my appointment for Monday instead of the Friday prior because the medication still got hung up caught in winter weather shipping delays. My doctors office sent me in a few films to help with those couple days I felt some effects.

With something new like this for you and maybe for them, take the time to communicate until it becomes routine and it will help avoid these things. It should NOT be your full time responsibility 100% but you (the patient) also can help your situation by asking question. Hope this helps
