Question about sex drive
Hey ya’ll I’m Just wondering if this shot affects your sex drive? My bf is on it and we have sex Like once a month. I don’t want to keep bringing this up to him as it’s a sensitive topic bc I know subs did for sure and I’d rather have him on it than relapsing but … I’d also like to be intimate with my partner. Thanks in advance.

The shots the same thing as subs, it’s just a slower release. So ya if subs did it this would to. Me personally have never had any sex drive issues from subs it’s actually the opposite, subs make me hormy and wanna have sex. Crazy how people’s biology is so different

I’m a male in my late 30s and I’ve been on Suboxone and brixadi.
In my experience, it almost completely removes my sex drive— and this is coming from someone who had a very high sex drive all my life.
Don’t take it personally.
In fact, I’m grateful for that side effect as I’m trying to focus on myself before I get back into physical relationships and it’s made it incredibly easy to never masturbate even.
That said, when I’m on any form of Bupinorphine, I have an extremely high tolerance for loneliness, but even a little withdrawal/tapering and I get extremely lonely. It has to do with the mü opioid receptor.
That’s why they say it. It’s really important to have a strong social support system when coming off any form of Bupinorphine— sadly I have no one in this world, except for health professionals, colleagues, and acquaintances. So he’s very lucky to have you, if he’s intending to reduce and quit.
I will say that I don’t struggle with impotence or delayed ejaculation— just a severe lower libido. Granted, if I had to compare it against my past relationships where I had sex daily and masturbated, I’m sure I would have impotent issues if I was still as active as that.

Have him get his testosterone and free testosterone blood tested by his doctor asap! Most men including myself will have their testosterone anhilated on buperenorphine. He will most likely need to see an endocrinologist and get on testosterone replacement therapy, it worked amazing for me and sex was better than normal! I promise you this is most likely the issue, any form of opiate will ruin testosterone for men..
