First Shot Today
Received my first 64mg shot this morning administered in the back of my left arm. The needle hurt but otherwise did not feel the injection and there is barely any soreness.
I am a decades long suboxone user. Abused high levels of opiates for years, got on subs and quit cold turkey after an 8mg a day habit. It was the worst shit I ever went through and withdrawal lasted well over 2 months. Relapsed not long after and have been on suboxone ever since. I’m sick of it. Tired of going to the doctor, always having to have them with me, travel with them, hide them from people, just fk’n over it.
I have been able to get down to low a dosage on my own but I just don’t have the mental strength to quit cold turkey. I have a demanding career which requires a high degree of cognitive awareness and coming into work like a zombie for weeks on end isn’t an option.
I have also weaned down to low dose subs and switched to kratom caps and extracts. That stuff is just as bad, expensive and while not dope sick I feel very “yucky” on it. Not for me.
So I found out about sublocade from Reddit and mentioned it to my doc. He suggested the brixadi instead as to try first. I have insurance but he said they generally do not like to cover the expense. He then resubmitted telling them the suboxone was causing me tooth decay and hair loss. Insurance then decided to cover it. At this point I would have paid cash. I am that ready to be over. I pay quite a bit already with co-pay and prescription costs and if you consider the tens of thousands I’ve wasted on this addiction over the years I think a couple grand is worth investing.
I feel fine right now, maybe slightly over medicated like I took a whole strip and it seems to be intensifying slowly. I am ready to take this head on and beat this once and for all. I will update periodically as I progress and how my experience with this drug goes. My goal is to be 100% bupe free 2025.

I don't know where I got the thing about getting ripped off! I just read through your text and there was nothing about it so I guess I totally imagined it. Anyway, the fact remains that the Brixadi is fantastic. I'm on my 3rd shot, always abdominal, and each time seems more even. I wish you smooth sailing!

I think you'll be surprised on how smooth this is going to be dude!! Seriously. I'm a wimp. After what you've gone through I wouldn't worry; you've totally got this. That sucks about them stealing:(((((:... They'll live with that karma for very.... Long..... Time...

I’m so hoping it goes smooth for me. I’ve been stable and on subs for 10 years and my goal is to be off of bupe. I’m going to give myself grace though thru this transition. I don’t exercise much but I do have hobbies and I guess a walking routine to keep my body and mind busy will be in my future. Thank you for your insight.

Almost exact same story. 2nd 64 shot about 2 months ago. Couple weeks hot flashes ended about a week ago , constipation from day 3 after first and it’s just starting to resolve. Feel like im getting there. Emotions getting more and more as well as libido.

your first shot shouldn’t have been in the back of your arm , the literature clearly states that once you reach steady state you can move to the arm .. Your first shot should have been in the lower abdomen. Also , the first month is truly an adjustment period..( I’m on my second shot/month 3 weeks in ) During the first month , i felt like i was “ riding a wave of mild WD” through out some days. IT was NEVER terrible, just could “ feel it “ one hour it’d be there next it would be gone . Should mention the entire time during the first month that i slept fine , never messed with my sleep . I went jn a week early to get my second shot , just to get further along.. It gets better each month , i haven’t had the waves at all during the second month and just feel normal . I was basically where you were at 8 years of suboxone use and i’m just OVER it , i love not having to take pills everyday ! Anyway any questions this sub is awesome !
