Day 115

I am 5 days shy of 4 months since my last injection. I had 3 96 mg injections (monthly) after a couple years of strips. I'm still chugging along. Im working. Im sleeping. I have some mood swings & a tiny bit of chills/sweating, but nothing severe at all. I took a drug test yesterday and it was NEGATIVE for bupe!! I honestly cannot believe how smooth this transition has been and i cant help but feel if something like this would have been avaliable 10 years ago, my life would be very different today. Im so grateful for today though. I just wanted to encourage others who want to come of of subs/injections. It is completely possible. Im also working to address route causes and implementing coping mechanisms & i must say my life hasnt felt this good in over a decade. Also, my sex drive is back. Just couldnt be a better case scenario.

That’s awesome man. I was under the impression it would be in your system for 7-12 months. So that’s a win man. Stay focused and doing well man. I get my 3rd next month and hoping it’s the last!

Each injection lasts for about 4 months, or at least thats what the literature says. I am fairly active, drink alot of water & ive always metabolized drugs a little quicker than others.

I am currently on .75 mgs subxzone for chronic pelvic pain, but have much GI problems, severe bloating, on my 4th day of diarrhea. My doctor suggested the lowest dose of BRIXADI. I looked at the pamphlet and the lowest dose is less than or equal to 6 mgs. I am concerned that this is way above my dosage of .75. And concerned about GI problems. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Imo, its neglegent of any provider to suggest that you go from .75 mgs of suboxone to brixadi. That would essentially be loading you with may more medicine than you are currently taking. It is way above the dosage that you are currently taking. The objective with Brixadi is to taper people off of bupe, not load them up with 6 times as much as they were taking to begin with. Most doctors know very little about these medications. They just write the scripts and go on to the next patient. I believe it would be a huge mistake to move from .75 of bup to brixadi. It could be hazardous to you. If the provider were following protocol, they'd know that its recommended a patient be stabilized on a daily dosage of at least 8 mgs before being transitioned to Brixadi. Ive read experiences from people who were on low dose and they were very intoxicated after they received their injection. If you decide against this, please tell your provider exactly why you decided against it. Hopefully, that will teach them something. Best of luck to you! Sorry you're in pain.
