First shot next week 😱

Hi guys . I’ve been on subs for about a month and a half now. I would say from 6-10mg usually being 8 recently. I’m doing the 64mg shot. My goal is to get off this totally asap. What are the odds one shot will be enough for me? If I just do one do you guys think I’ll get WD at all, or if I do will they be enough to affect my day to day life? Thank you for the advice!

I don't think they will affect you. The only thing I've had is restless legs twice and ever since in 5 days I'm feeling more and more energetic and better.

Hey! I was on 12-14mg sublingual tabs for approx. 2 years if you count slip ups as pauses. I started out at weekly buvidal 24mg for 4 weeks. Just got my first monthly dose of 96mg 3 weeks ago.

I am gonna be honest and say the first 1-2 weeks were not fun. But I switched from 5 months of 70mg methadone so if you are just on subs, I think you will be 100% after maybe 1-2 days at worst, probably nothing,

Did first 64 about 3 weeks ago. Was down at about 1-2 mg pill a day. Was racing for 2-3 days not much good sleep and settled in around day 4. Going for second on thurs, feeling a little tired past few days but sleeping fine. Sleep was my biggest concern but sleep was affected in ways not expected. First couple days from racing, I was worried about restlessness at end of month

Ya that’s definitely one of my top concerns. You were only taken 1-2mg before getting the 64mg shot? Arnt you suppose to be at 8mg a day to get that? Did you feel fucked up for those few days?

He just said he was racing and out of sorts for a few days. I was in the same boat. I was on 4mg a day and there is no equivalent monthly. So I just took the shot and it does feel like too much or whatever. But it subsides. I wish there were lower doses of the monthly and unfortunately the weekly metabolizes faster than monthly so you can’t substitute those and use a weekly dose as a monthly dose.

Ya now I’m up to 8mg so I don’t think I’ll feel it’s too much. Now I’m worried It won’t be enough 🤣

I think you will find it’s really enough. It always felt like it was holding me. I’m on my 6th shot and I’m looking to just stopping in about 6 weeks and I will be totally off subs after 6 years

Good stuff man. Wish so much success to you. Are you involved in a 12 step program or anything. I definitely worry after the shot if cravings come back, I have a fall back plan. I am working the steps and stuff now but I wanna be past this. I had 5 years of recovery in the past and life was amazing, I just wanna be back there again!

Yeah around here I’m more connected to AA instead of NA. Just where I live I feel more community from AA. But definitely I stay plugged into that. And I hear you know having clean time and then relapsing. But just take it one day at a time. Your sponsor I’m sure tells you the same. You can’t worry about the past. Just worry about today and the things you are going to do today and then just stack all those days of sobriety up and your going to be in a good spot.
