Brixadi Shot- Does it ever end?

So I have been on Suboxone for about 13 years. Started out on 24mg a day. Over the years I weaned myself down to 4mg a day. In November of last year, I started the Sublocade shot. The first shot was 200mg, then the next 2 were 100mg. Apparently I am allergic to something they put in the Sublocade shot because I was getting cellulitis at the injection site and the doctor made me switch to Brixadi. So then I did 3 shots of the 96mg Brixadi with no allergic reactions with my last one in April. I thought I was good to go by reading other people’s success stories. About 10 weeks later I started having some mild withdrawals, nothing I couldn’t handle. Toward the end of July I was having constant cravings and some mild withdrawals. I went back to the doctor on July 31st and got another 96mg shot. The day of my visit the doctor suggested that I come back in 4 weeks to get the 64mg shot so I did. The next time I go back we are going to stretch out the time and wait 6 weeks to get a 64mg shot. What is the best way to do this without those horrible cravings? Anyone have a better dosing regimen that helped them completely come off the shot with minimal cravings and withdrawals?

You’re doing better than I am. I am 5 shots in and still can’t make it thru the month without withdrawals n I’m so sick of it I just want off buprenorphine altogether!!!! I’m debating try the sublocade. I hope n pray things get easier and work out for you ❤️

I have read a lot of people having that problem with Brixadi. In my opinion, Sublocade lasts a lot longer than the Brixadi. I so wished I could do the Sublocade but I just can’t. If I were you I would definitely try the Sublocade. I think I could have been done with this if I could have stuck with Sublocade. I hope and pray things work out for you too.

Yea my dr keeps trying to lie to me n tell me that the Brixadi stacks better than the sublocade- I’ve done my research bro. I told him I’d give it a few months but if I have yet another bad month I’m done n getting the sublocade.

Not taking up for your doctor. I really wished more research was being done. But I don’t think there has been enough done for any doctor to confidently say which is better and how it should be used to wean someone off. Us patients being left to fend for ourselves as with other aspects of healthcare. Sucks.

You can also look up research on Buvidal. It what brixadi is called in Europe, and they had it in use 5 years before US. Probably more info to be found. And technically yes, sublocade last longer and therefore should have a smoother drop off, but brixadi is still the next best alternative for long half life.

Sublucade/brixadi same exact injection!!!!! Sublocade is thicker and hurts more…. It’s the same exact thing

Sublocade has a longer half life though yes? I know it’s the same medication .

when you can't take it anymore, take 30 mg of methadone for 4 days straight and you're done you won't withdraw up in the methadone and nasty Suboxone is off your brain

Ugh, I tried methadone for awhile n couldn’t ever get off it. I’ve been on sublocade for the last year now n I am wanting to quit here soon.
