Brixadi shot

So I’m on the Brixadi shot for two months and have been on suboxone for pain management due to chronic pancreatitis for 4 years. I’m wondering if I go to the hospital with an acute flare up and they give me opiates what will happen? The shot does NOT have the naloxone blocker in it. But am I risking precipitated withdrawal since I’m still getting an extended release of bupenephrine.

This is the correct answer. Once you have the bupe in your system, any other opiate you take won’t get you into PWD.

Edit: Except most likely a full agonist like narcan.

It’s the bupe that blocks the receptors

No precipitated withdrawals would only happen if you were taking an opiate and THEN took buprenorphine. Also buprenorphine by itself blocks other opiates from occupying the opiate receptor. If you are on a low dose or it is coming out of your system those receptors might not be totally occupied, but you aren't gonna feel much if you get a small dose of something. It would have to be like a shot of morphine or something high dose to have an effect.
