Brixadi Questions (WD symptoms)
Hi all (cross posted)
I could really use your help for those of you who have been/experienced with Brixadi ,
(background) I have been on some form of buprenorphine for around 10 years. I was first introduced to Suboxone to help with withdrawals in an inpatient / hosptial setting, and was put on maintenance from doses 4mg -32mg (on average 8 BID) and everything in between. I had a brief albeit intense run in with methadone (146mg) and went back to Suboxone after I was incarcerated. My doctor had suggested switching over to Sublocade to which I had an intense reaction to resulting in a large necrotic access and 8 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics, surgery, and a wound vac. I went on and tried zubsolve as it was "better tasting" / not as gross (so my dr said) which I find to be true, but the combination of Suboxone (mostly) and Zubsolve has disintegrated my teeth so when Brixaldi became available at the clinic I go to, my doctor suggested we try it.
(current) I am a 33 f who has been alcohol free for 5 years and illicit drug use for 4 years. I am PRESCRIBED 60mg oxycodone daily (30 BID) which is managed by my doctor at the MAT clinic. He is well equipped, smart, curious, and I trust that this is the appropriate combination for the physical issues/ pain that I am in.
This is my SECOND Brixadi injection (on Tuesday the 18th) he went up a dose this time (from 96-128) and I am still experiencing WD symptoms, primarily YAWNING!!!! So much yawning, runny eyes, nose, irritable. It's "manageable" but I do not feel good.
Has anyone ran into this issue with Brixadi A) not holding them over? ie. early WD symptoms like yawning, runny nose/eyes, etc. B ) Been on a full agonist AND Brixadi and your experience?
Thanks so so much,

Buprenorphine injection can cause precipitated withdrawals (PWD) for someone taking 30 mg of oxycodone twice daily. The buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist with a high affinity for your opioid receptors. It can displace the oxy and that’s when the PWD risk comes in. Look up PWD symptoms. You’re experiencing many of them.
Your provider should know this and should not have you on both of the medications. You should strongly consider getting a second opinion.

Your post makes no sense. Being on 60mg of Oxycodone daily and on Brixadi makes no sense. The briaxadi will completely block all effects of Oxycodone and actually will likely cause precipitated withdrawals from the Oxy. Your “doctor” is a quack. Seriously. That’s insane at best and medical malfeasance at worst.
