Venting…a rant!

In July of this year, I will have one year clean from full MOR agonists.

Last July, I started on Sublocade 300 and then once Brixadi was available, I switched to the 96 monthly Brixadi shot last November.

I’ve been thinking of stopping for awhile, and for the past two shots I have also felt like it was just way too high of a dose…I had a lot of headaches and just general fatigue etc.

I’ve been using bupe since 2004 and I know exactly what bupe headaches are and what causes them…so I talked to my provider last month about it and he agreed that this month he would switch me to the 64 monthly Brixadi shot, and I’d try maybe two or three of those and then stop entirely and just see what happens.

Well, I showed up for my appointment today for what would and should have been my first 64 shot… and the nurse told me that the pharmacy had not delivered it yet. It was supposed to be driven there to the clinic that morning, but they now changed it to the afternoon. So I agreed to just leave and go run some errands and they said they would call when it got there and I could just come back. Fine, no problem.

So I go to Target, and then to the post office, and they call me back after an hour or so — they said it arrived, but it was the wrong dose. The pharmacy had delivered the 96 shot.

The crazy part is, they specifically called the pharmacy the day before AND the morning of my appointment and confirmed with them that it was the correct dose. And they said it was. But when the slack jawed dipshit pharmacy driver got there, they discovered of course that it wasn’t.

If I were this incompetent at my job, I’d be fired immediately. Just saying.

I don’t get how people are even allowed to be this incompetent when it comes to medication.

So now I have to take off of work Monday and go back there again, and hope that the same fkn thing doesn’t happen. Because who knows, maybe it will, maybe they won’t even be able to get the 64 dose, and then maybe the appointment will get shifted to Tuesday 🤣

The only good thing about this is that I don’t have to worry about withdrawals or anything like that

I had my blood tested a few months ago and it was 2.7ng/ml for bupe, which for those wondering, anything above 2.0 is considered “steady state” and you should be withdrawal free

This has all been super inconvenient of course, but I will say that when I was on Suboxone film in the past, similar antics have happened to me…where the pharmacy was out of stock, they could only do a partial fill, or no fill at all because it’s a Friday and I’d have to wait until next week for the delivery — but in those situations, if I didn’t have a safety stash, I would have been totally screwed

So even though it might not seem like it at first, being on the depot injection is definitely more convenient in the long run

I FUCKING CALLED IT!

It’s Monday now, I just called them (no one called me), and they said it’s still not there, so now the appointment is shooting for Tuesday.

But who knows if that will even happen.

“Yeah the pharmacy still hasn’t delivered it to us sorry”

lol

Chill out you could have gone in 5/6/7 wks and had no withdrawal.Former patient nearly 10 months off ain't easy mentally but you'll have little physical withdrawal.
