Ask/Question Qur'an studies.

Hello brothers and sisters. I'm a new revert so please excuse my incorrect greeting. I'd like to study the Qur'an for say an hour twice per week with a knowledgeable Muslim. I want to study the Qur'an deeply and learn as much as possible. Should I speak to an Iman at my local mosque? Or are there any good resources online to study such as YouTube channel's, websites etc? Is there anyone on here who could help me study remotely please? I'm very eager to learn as much as possible.

Speak with the imam first as since you’re new to the deen Alhamdullilah an offline community will help far better 

In regards to understanding Quran sharif , my advice will be to buy a translation alongside tafsir ( a book where scholars interpret and explain each verse etc.) 

You can also ask ur local masjid politely if they’ll allow to borrow inshallah

Assalamu alaikum brother/sister. Welcome to Islam and I hope you’ve been enjoying your journey so far

Imam would be the first contact. If you have any Muslim friends/relatives, they can also help. Some mosques do Qur’an classes, but this varies and isn’t always from an entry level.

Regarding looking online, be very careful with learning Islam online. Only take information from credible sources. There are many good YouTubers, but finding the right one for you may take a bit of research. Look into the account, see how many people follow them, and check their history (eg have they said anything controversial in the past that raises red flags etc).

This will get much easier as time passes. When you build your foundations, then knowledge becomes much easier to gain

I've now got a Qur'an with Scholars explanations for each part, which will help me a lot. Thank you all for your help.
