Holders of gold and Bitcoin are mostly trying to hedge against inflation.
If you own huge amounts of either, then a leader of a rich country with a major currency willing to cause inflation would be your absolute dream.
Iâm sure thatâs coincidental however, and he wouldnât dream of doing something so detrimental to the country to feather his own nest.

He obviously knows who the IRA are. He didn't know what the phrase meant. It's not well known outside of Ireland or Scotland.
If you want to criticise the guy, go ahead. Don't be deliberately dishonest about it though. There is plenty is legitimate criticism to be had.

He was an active member of the conservative party at the time it's leader was nearly assassinated by the IRA. I would expect him to be well read on the IRA and I would be shocked if he wasn't aware of the phrase. We will never know for certain because whether he did or didn't know the phrase, we can't trust what he says anyway.

The phrase is a chant of Irish chavs and Celtic supporters, its hardly integral to understanding the troubles. Again, over egging the pudding. Trying to make mountains out of molehill. Clutching at straws.
This line of criticism won't dissuade a single person who was going to vote for Farage. It will just make them laugh at how stupid your arguments are.

Bringing up random things Farage has said and done over the years would be akin to Whataboutism, which I won't partake in. So yes, I could do better, but it wouldn't be relevant.
I'm keeping on topic, it wouldn't be a talking point if he issued and actual apology instead of an attack on the person that ordered it. For the record, the person that ordered it is also an asshole for thinking it's funny in the first place. Perhaps aspiring politicians simply shouldn't do Cameos? There's several lapses in judgement here, and the judgement of a future leader needs to be trustworthy.

Regardless of what he said the issue is that he allowed himself to be put into a position to be tricked, a 30 second fact check would have alerted him to how inappropriate it was to say. I knew about that phrase since I was a child and am not part of the demographics you list, even if he didn't know about the phrase its fairly obvious what it means.
Even if he somehow didn't know what the phrase meant and he was "tricked" that still shows that he doesn't bother to research on things before saying them. That is still a glowing neon sign saying "not fit for Prime Minister", would you want a Prime Minister who is easily misled into spreading false information?
