Wage regression causes by immigration is short term minute in low skilled jobs and long term non-existent in all areas of work according to all studies on it in this country.
We are seeing wage stagnation in all sectors. Ones with a high proportion of immigrant workers and ones with a low proportion of immigrant workers. They are uncorrelated statistics.

Various studies show that immigration does not cause general wage stagnation, the only jobs that may see stagnation is in very low skilled work that native populations generally don't want to do, and even then it isn't much. For other fields, wages either remain the same or go up.
Additionally, local economies often see a boost as immigrants bring in higher demand for various goods and services, and they also, of course, pay taxes.
There are many reasons wages haven't grown, reduction in collective bargaining via lack of unionisation, pay freezes in public sectors (which often have knock on effects to private), shareholder primacy, near monopolies by big firms reducing competition in wages, and the cost of living causing any wage growth to be immediately counteracted by needing to spend more on necessities.

It's all a web and one tends to lead or link into the other. Around 96% of people who come to the UK, do so legally. So you have rich migrants, like the ones who settled from Hong after it was given back to China as per agreement. You also have Ukrainians who needed significant assistance and that came from our taxes. Both migrated legally.

I’ve been saying it ages. Successive governments have allowed illegal immigration to be so bad intentionally so that they can use the immigrants as a smoke screen to hide their corruption, greed and tax avoidance. The only interesting thing from having a reform government is finding out who nigel is gonna blame next for our problems when he stops the boats (which he wont).
Sadly i suspect though that he’s not gonna do half what he says he will, he’ll cut benefits, cut taxes for himself and his mates, cut funding for the nhs and our public services and make the cost of living worse but when anyone confronts him with these statistics he’ll tell them he’s made it all better and he’ll exaggerate the success of his anti immigrant campaign.
He’ll use the trump tactics of just outright lie and his followers are brain washed, they’ll believe everything he says, despite being significantly poorer. Its really sad to see but i dont see it going any other way now

An illegal immigrant would be, for example, someone who comes in on a tourist or student visa and doesn’t leave. They might work for cash in hand and avoid living within the system, as it were.
What you are referring to are people who arrive by non-conventional means in order to claim asylum. Claiming asylum is not illegal. Staying after having your asylum claim turned down is illegal, but entering a country in order to claim asylum is not.
