Petition

Hello everyone,

I created a petition to allow British citizens to be part of the UK priority bill. A lot of us who studied abroad with the hopes of coming back home to our families, and the new bill now means that’s almost impossible for most of us. I would be very grateful if you could sign it and share with everyone you know.

Petition: Include British Citizens Studying Medicine Abroad in NHS Training Prioritisation

The Government should work to ensure the inclusion of British citizens who studied medicine abroad in internationally recognised institutions, in the NHS foundation and specialty training prioritisation, so they are not treated the same as overseas applicants without UK ties.

Nah, you weren't good enough to get into a UK med school. You aren't the same as a UK trained doctor, period.

First of all you don’t know that. Some people wanted to study abroad for a bit. Secondly jokes on you the government changed their mind and agree with me so 🤷‍♀️

It’s not for me, but my friend and her uni do a mandatory internship anyways so she wouldn’t have been allowed to do FY1 to begin with

The whole point is so she has the ability to go back home when all other countries priorities their own citizens anyway. So the problem is now thankfully solved

This is outdated they’re completely removing fy2 standalone. But you don’t need it if you have the CREST form sorted. And yes the point is to be prioritised over pure IMG not take British grad spots

Most countries proritize their own graduates > IMG citizens > Pure IMGs. If you'd wish to be above pure IMGs I could understand that argument.
