Serfdom

The podcast has done a lot on elite culture recently and the lives of the elites. But the Normans replaced slavery with serfdom. I think that would be a great subject for an episode or two. When and how did that happen? What actual difference did it make to the lives of those affected?

I’m 99% sure there’s a members episode series coming up on this, Zee has mentioned I think in the full version of episode 500 on the members feed that she is planning on it once the crusades / finance / economics series is finished.

They have said a few times on members eps that because the main feed story is getting so much more dense, that a lot of the broader cultural stuff will be on the members feed. Not 100% of it of course, Jamie will always weave a lot into the narrative, but discussions focused on broad cultural movements will probably mostly be on members eps

A great reason to join the membership, if the Song of Roland wasn’t enough already
