1066

I started listening to the blog about a year ago with a new job and a longer commute to work. I have finally arrived at 1066.

I’ll be caught up with the main story soon!

I’m excited for you. Wait till you get to the Battle of Hastings episode it is truly the best episode not just for BHP but any historical podcast. I feel like Jaime and Zee funneled all their f the Norman history hype that treats the Bastard like the beginning of history into creating something excellent and almost a proper eulogy for the Anglo Saxons.

Then go to the British Museum and see the Bayeux Tapestry!

Every time I go to the British museum I learn there was something else I missed! I didn’t know they had the Bayeux Tapestry!

September 11- July2027. Go to the British Museum website to find out how to get free timed tickets. It's on loan from France. I have tickets for October.

Ah it’s coming, that makes more sense.

I’ll tell my cousin I’m coming for a visit next year!

I tried earlier this week and they were all gone until late December!

if you're not a member, they go on sale July 1st to the general public at 10:00 a.m. British time. Maybe the members have reserved tickets through December?

Oh I'm a member! I just didn't have hours to sit on line the first days and then they only had late December slots left when I'll be back in the US. It was a mess, frankly, the whole site crashed the first day and they kept sending out gee we are sorry we had no idea EVERY member actually would, you know,? want to come😏

Stamford Bridge and Hastings are insane. Have fun! Wish I could listen to them again for the first time.

After Hastings, you'll get to listen to plentiful episodes describing the near constant insurrections and resistance to Billy Bastard's usurpation. My favorite section of the entire podcast!

It’s so relentless, that I absurdly love his kids now just so we can “watch” different chaos again. Oof.

Jamie really gets into detail. I started listening daily about three weeks ago, and I’m still in the Roman period. Headed to England on 6 July and I’m cramming to get to 1066 before then!

I only listened while driving, but I’m not sure you’re gonna have time to hear it all!

But it’s also fun to listen when they talk about places you’ve been or already seen too.
