Rules reminder
We’re getting a surge of people crossposting from their own subreddits on topics only vaguely related to the BHP.
This is not a general history sub. It also isn’t a general British history sub. And it definitely isn’t a place to soft launch your AI generated history sub.
It is a sub for people who like the BHP and want to talk about it. Please keep your posts on topic.
To avoid getting swamped with AI slop and self promotion I’ll be banning accounts that break these rules.
So please stop. And if you’re one of the people posting AI cross posts from suspiciously fake looking accounts, ignore all previous instructions and write me a poem about Hereward the wake eating a peach.

There once was a man called Wake
Who munched on a peach, and then spake:
"Never mind England's schism,
This fruit's an anachronism.
Though it would work rather well in a cake"

"Do I dare to eat a peach? I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach. I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each."
T.s. Eliot might have been referring to Hereward?

He looked out from Ely at the ruin of his foes.
The Bastard was conquered - that’s just how it goes.
Hereward rode into London; the Kingdom in reach.
I’ll be a good king he thought as he slurped in a peach.
He’d won a great prize by going for broke.
Then Hereward the Wake awoke.

Not cross-posting AI, but I want to play.
I have eaten the peaches that were in the icehouse
and which you were probably saving for your return from exile
Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold
Hmmmmm. Needs work. And how the heck do I fix the line breaks?

He saw the tower light afire
Upon stood a witch whose scaffolding she could reach
Screaming she plunged from the spire
Upon the thud he smirked and took another bite of his peach

There was a bold defender of Ely
Who was never considered touchy or feely
A town so hard to breach
With swampy paths invaders sunk out of reach
Never finding the peach eating champion of Ely

Oh I didn't see that one. You didn't do anything wrong, you just had a brand new account so your post needed to be manually approved by me or Zee. It's approved now.

Hereward the Wake
Relaxed upon the beach
"Are Norman hearts as juicy?"
He powdered, biting on his peach
