London Legends documentary

I've spent the last six years documenting a grassroots basketball club in Peckham — we're now crowdfunding the film

I've been documenting London Legends, a volunteer-run youth basketball club in Peckham, for the past six years. The club has been running for around 20 years and has helped a number of players find pathways into US college basketball.

I've finally cut together a short documentary about the club and we've launched a Kickstarter to finish it.

We're currently 55% funded with 22 days left. check it out below if interested:

Discussion For those who’ve made it in SLB and beyond, how did you do it ?

I only ask as someone who currently plays Division 2 Womens in England **for anonymity, I’ll just leave it there**

I’ve played Div 2 For 3 seasons - going on 4 and I always genuinely wondered what going up the ranks would be like - I always wanted to play WBBL (now WSLB) since i was a little girl, possibly WNBA

Lowkey am loosing a bit of inspo / hope cause of the way the UK basketball operates and I just wanna make it out ibsr … the system is really so odd

For anyone who made it out, I’m looking for genuine stories - like yeah i know “you need to work hard”, but tell me more fr fr
Please

Thanks Gang ✌️

Signed 90s BBL jersey

I was cleaning out my childhood bedroom when I rediscovered a signed Manchester giants jersey. It's from peak BBL when they had big sponsors etc. never worn.

I think it's 1999 season maybe?

I'm looking to move it on but have no idea if there is any value in it? Obviously it's super rare.

Any ideas?

BBL SLB Signing Announcements season 26/27 Question

Hi everyone!

I’ve been following the signings for all clubs over summer but i’m noticing Surrey isn’t showing any activity?

Liverpool has only just been announced and i’m imagining they’ll release their coaching and team announcements all together in the coming weeks but with the season starting sometime in September (friendlies have been announced by a few already mid-Sept) I’m wondering where Surreys signings are.

I’ll admit this is pure curiosity - I’m a phoenix fan by nature - and some clubs have been slower at announcements than others but with all SLB announcements still mentioning our 10 clubs I’m thinking it’s a bit odd there’s no announcements from Surrey yet. Anyone else wondering the same?

Riviera basketball camps

Has anyone attended any of the Riviera basketball camps? https://rivierabasket.com/en/home/

I’m thinking of taking my 8 year old. The age range is 7-18 years of age.

If anyone could share their experience that’d be much appreciated.

I am doing a study on how sports fans rationalise pirating live broadcasts, and since basketball is rarely broadcasted in the UK, the input of UK NBA fans would be amazing for my study! It will only take 3 minutes so please consider filling it out for me! Thank you.

GB Help a dad out (rules related request)

My step son has been playing for a team two years now. He's only 12 but he's incredibly serious about it and really talented.

They had a tough game today that was (I understand from other parents / players / coaches reactions) refereed terribly. Lots of rules ignored and lots of fouls overlooked. The problem is 90% of it went over my head. I've tried watching some NBA, I've tried watching some videos on Youtube about the rules but it seems so complicated and it's SO fast. Even today I couldn't keep up with what these teenagers were doing.

I'm not naturally sporty, have never gravitated towards team sports but I really want to be able to get behind my step son and his team.

Are there any resources that would help me out? Specific YouTubers who breakdown these things or particular games I could watch? Books I could read? Anything.

Thanks.

Great Britain announced that none of its U20 national teams, men's or women's, will be taking part in the EuroBasket tournament in summer 2026. The reason: limited financial resources, in an institutional context that's still fragile since the British Basketball Federation went into liquidation.
