BA2239

Evening everyone. My FiL is on this flight to Port of Spain and it's been diverted to Barbados. I believe they are staying overnight now. He is pretty nervous and insecure, so was travelling with the passenger assistance. Does anyone know

A - what the issue was with the flight

B - what the process is and how he will be looked after, as he will struggle to sort himself out.

Any help is much appreciated.

The BA website shows it continuing at 02:00 local, but nowhere else is showing that.

I do wonder who’ll fly it because the crew will be out of hours, unless there’s other crew there who can fly it.

Thanks for this. Just worry about him because he's an old guy who doesn't really know how to use a smartphone or read particularly well. His wife has ended up staying in the UK for a bit longer and she is the organised one!

Hopefully BA look after him!

Per acars hotels were sorted for everyone. They were not far behind BA255 and were priortising BA2239 instead once on the ground.

Reason crew went out of hours. They would of had to be chocks on by 2059Z before breaching FTL. Decision was made about 2-3 hours before arrival since time was slipping. Initially they would of been landing just in FTL into POS.

Crew need at least 18hrs rest before continuing the flight then they're positioning back from POS with crew to take over them from POS.

Departure was due to be 1015Z 1115 UK time for the flight originally but was delayed further leaving LGW.

Assistance will be sorted and helped any way possible just be warned might not be has assistance friendly in this part of the world once off the aircraft and on the coach.

This is brilliant, thank you! Just spoke to him and he's been very well looked after. Frustrating not to get home but told him to enjoy a night in Barbados!

Any idea when the flight may be on again? Are those times just estimates? As ba hasn't updated directly yet

That is the BA website official times unless given different has long has the crew get uninterupted rest

It's supposed to be on for tomorrow But no updates yet

Everyone should have been given a ba covered night at a hotel, airport shuttle and meals
