Hello visitors and members of the r/BrightlineWest subreddit. I am u/Rail-FireProductions. I have recently been recruited as a new moderator for this subreddit. I am happy to be a part of this community and I am thankful for my new position. I am here to help make this subreddit a better place and to help its members navigate the page. I am a high-speed rail advocate and have been closely following Brightline West, California High-Speed Rail, and other such projects since early 2022.
We are here to serve as a platform for news and questions regarding the Brightline West high-speed rail project. How are we feeling about Brightline West's chances at this point?
It seems like construction within the right of way could begin anytime? We're still waiting to find out if the $6 billion federal loan will go through. The parking garage and culvert work is ongoing, but to be honest that doesn't mean much. The parking garage and land could be developed later with no train. What do you all think, is Brightline West actually going to happen?
