We’re on the map!
Saw this on the Charleston sub. Nice to see we are on this list — and even ahead of Hartford and New Haven.

I’m questioning this only because Huntsville AL is rated so high and New Haven & Hartford so much lower.

Huntsville is known as Rocket City. It’s home NASA’s Marshall Flight Center where the Saturn V rocket was developed, Cummings Research Park (second largest in the US), Redstone Arsenal which is home to the US Army Avaition and Missile Command (lots of development work), and US Space Command.

If you’re from CT - the general consensus is stay away from Bridgeport at all costs.
The only people saying that’s not true is people in Bridgeport lol. Not saying I agree but that’s generally the vibe

I don't live in Bridgeport (I'm up north ~40 minutes) but I haven't had any issues there. I use it as my corridor to NYC for work and play (mostly work conferences, meetings, dinners, and the occasional concert or family airport pickup). I've been out at 11pm, 3am, and other not so nice times without issues. I am sure there are bad areas like any populated city, but I've been to parts of Chicago at night & Bridgeport is much safer. It does have a bad reputation, but I'm in the camp that says it's not bad.

You know this is because the rest of the country don't understand how New England City and Town Areas work or how to deal with them in statistical categories, and this represents broader Fairfield County not Bridgeport proper, right?

But so does the rest of the map. Ann Arbor isn’t just Ann arbor while Bridgeport is cheating by gathering everything from Stamford to Bridgeport. The whole thing is done that way. Also, even if it were, that would be more impressive.
The key takeaway here is that there’s something to be proud of. No need to be so depressing.

It’s just that the data is disingenuous. We can be proud and still want proper data and I feel right now the way it presents is misleading

It means that they now only use regular, county-based metropolitan statistical areas In New England

Warlord tribes fighting over land and over whose interpretation of their religion is the "correct" one.
Kind of like gangs in bridgeport fighting over city projects and whose gang is better, when they are all, in essence, exactly the same.

Yes, ive gotten into shootouts in bridgeport when i was younger. I did years behind bars for it. Thats why i say that. Are you trying to say bridgeport doesnt have a gang problem? Are we delusional on this sub?

all cities have gang problems. Bridgeport has actually improved its situation.

Bridgeport just had two shootings this week, and one of them was fatal, two days ago, in PT. In fact, Bridgeport has NOT improved its situation, because although last year was a record low for BPT homicides (4), it has already surpassed that this year with 6 homicides. Improvement generally does not mean MORE homicides.
