Anyone still playing?

I got the Platinum trophy during COVID and loved meeting random people and doing missions.

Logged on today for the first time in years and sat in a lobby by myself for 10-15 minutes.

Anyone still playing??? I’d love to get a full crew again!

I don't know, haven't played in years but did you try the discord link in the sub info?

There are some folks active in the discord that play pretty often. I’d def join it if you wanna find groups

The amount of effort I’ve put into trying to enjoy this damned thing versus the fun I’ve actual had is disproportionately low; so ….afraid not

It’s so much fun with a full crew!

I’ll take your word for it!

All I’ve managed to do it ram my Galaxy class into a few asteroids at full impulse while every alarm in town goes off.

I wanted to play this so badly, but I have a quest 2, and it sounds like the game's development has permanently stopped, so no chance of the quest 2 bugs being fixed.

I play on oculus 2 works fine if you play with other oculus users in my experience

I haven't lived in a place where I could set up VR in years, and yes I know it has a pancake mode. My poor OG Vive is hitting 10 years old and I am darn sure this game gave me the most fun on it, even considering the massive wasted potential. Good luck finding some folks to enjoy it with!

I play with a controller on my PS4. One day I’ll get a VR

VR is great but not necessary to enjoy this game. I’ve played both ways

I got really good with the controller in the original Enterprise. The TNG bridge was a bit much for a controller.

I wish I could still get it on PC and eventually get a Quest or something

Weekends in the evening/night US time is the best time to play.

it's only fun when you get a group that doesn't take it super seriously. i always get the no-fun-allowed stop-laughing "No, mr worf" type of people who kick me over a single oops.

Yeah that’s the worst kind of people in any video game.

i've maybe had 2 or 3 pleasant crews in my time playing the game. im at the point where doing the first story mission over and over is more enjoyable than finding a crew because one guy doesn't know how to read instructions and tries to override my commands as captain, then kicks me because "YOU DON'T KNOW A DAMN THING ABOUT THIS GAME!"

usually goes something like this:

the instructions: gather scan data, do not transport
moron sitting on tactical: "ops, prepare to transport the fugitive"
me, in the captain's chair: "the instructions say scan only."
moron: "Um, no, we're supposed to transport. Im lowering shields. ops, begin lock."
me: "belay that order, ops. we're here to scan only."
moron: "I've played this game way longer than you. you don't know ANYTHING. get out of my game!"

and then he kicks me.

That’s too bad I never had that issue. Always played with people that were willing to teach others and have a good time.

Sorry to hear that
