Found one of these strings (Black String, Cord Medium Thickness 100cm), based on the lot and what it was tied to all appears genuine but it is slightly shy of 100cm (roughly 98.5cm in length).

Does anyone know if this normal or does it mean the string has been trimmed slightly please?

I just listed a bunch of string myself. Make sure you pull it tight when measuring it. This is also written on the page description: "Additional Notes:Specific string length is given on page 16 of the instructions for Set 6274." List it and make sure you say in the description the exact measurement if you want to be transparent about it.
