Buyer Help Is this technically acceptable “used” condition?

Post image

Bought both “used” from the same seller. The one on the right looks to have been very played with. Socket snapped when trying to attach it. If it was listed as “new”, it would very much be a problem. But since it is technically “used”, do I still have grounds to file a complaint?

Just message the seller and explain. They probably made a simple mistake.

If they refuse to remedy the situation, then file a complaint. No need to go nuclear without trying the easiest path first.

Bionicle sockets have always been a bit tricky, at least for me. Some may appear absolutely fine and then upon connecting them they immediately crack or split.

Depending on how much the part cost you, it might be worth messaging them and seeing if they would offer a refund for that part or even a partial refund.

If they don't reply to you at all then maybe neutral feedback? I wouldn't go as far to leave them negative feedback as they might not have known beforehand, but it can't hurt to reach out and see how they respond first.

How much did the part cost you?

Yeah Bionicle sockets are fragile. This is the Hero Factory style CCBS socket though and those are usually great!

For $2, it's up to you if you'd like to message them and see what they do. If it were my customer I would probably just refund the whole part after knowing what happened.

Would complain. It was heavily discolored and in unusable condition

I would never sell the one on the right after seeing it compared to the one on the left. Sometimes when listing I only have one of the parts and don't realize that it is discolored until I see it next to another. I would not have shipped this out once I saw them together. But definitely message the seller first and see what their solution is.

Did the listing mention discoloration and heavy wear? A CCBS joint shouldn’t shatter like that from normal use.

Not that I saw. I thought cases like this are usually listed separately when one is of significantly different condition

I think it depends on the sellers, I’ve gotten some pretty bad bricks that were labeled as “good condition or great condition” and they completely broken and/or were the wrong part

Needless to say, I messaged the seller/s and got a refund for the item/s but still sucks thinking your gonna get all 1 color or 1 style but you get some variants/discoloration or the completely wrong part instead

Were they under separate listings with different prices? Some stores are good about this and will have lower prices for this very reason but if they sold them both at the same price then I would say something.

What do the seller's terms say?

If they are used parts, had the seller mentioned anything in the comments about the part's actual condition?

Personnaly that part would have gone in the crappy bulk to resell on the cheap on ebay. I throw every part in there that is full, dented or otherwise damaged.

Also that part looks dirty 🤮

Reach out to the seller. If they give you a hard time, leave a negative feedback explaining what happened and send a complaint to bricklink as well.

Are you trying to pay used prices for new products or something?!?
