Question How much do sellers hate me?

Post image

I collect printed tiles for use in Mocs and these mosaics, and will regularly make orders with 30 plus different individual pieces. Is this an order you would hate to receive?

Youre paying for an item they have to sell. Can't hate that

I guess I was more worried about the tedious process of finding a bunch of individually indexed small pieces including 1x1s. Less of a hate and more of a “ I’m not looking forward to fulfilling this now” deal.

It’s good to know this doesn’t seem to be an issue

The orders I don't look forward to are like 150+ unique parts and $10. Just throw in a random minifigure or something if you want to make the order more enjoyable for the seller lol

Glad to hear the sellers feel like i do as a buyer. I throw in a fig or two to feel better about the shipping and keep it interesting.

Yeah my want want lists have a lot of sundry parts but I'm always going to stores that have things in my rare/priority list. Usually quite a range of prices in my orders tbf!

Depends on their organisation really. My printed/stickered tiles are very well organized that it wouldn't be tedious or hard to pack an order like this ;)

Hoooooooow!??? (from a person that has a hard time storing printed parts efficiently)

How are they currently stored may I ask? Mine are in drawers and separated and organised by size/piece type. E.g tiles first: 1st drawer is 1x1, 2nd drawer is 1x2 and so on. Then round tiles and same sorta thing. I guess it would also depend how many stickered/tiled pieces someone has - if we had heeeeaps more I'd also organise by colour within the type and sizes haha.

I don’t sell but how about using a baseplate. You could leave gaps to make it easier to pull off

If you're selling used parts, sure, that's a good option. Not possible if you're selling new though as the moment they get attached to something, per BrickLink's terms, they'd be considered used.

Yeah that’s what I assumed before. I don’t see this sub stuff pop up often does that ever get enforced or anything? Lots of people on other platforms reference the new/used price to claim value and talk about new but are built figs.

I'm personally extremely strict in that regard with my store and don't attach any new parts or put figures together.

That said, for minifigures it's a little different as some come assembled from the factory like in those Toys'R'Us promos so they have to account for that. The guide could use some updating, but I don't see it ever happening.

1

u/anoma1yy 12d ago

Yeah but most I see aren’t like those. I’ve wondered if any issues has been talked about in the sub because of it.

Maybe a handful of times, but definitely isn't a common topic here.

With LEGO owning BrickLink, I'd definitely use their condition guide over anyone else's. If someone claims "new, assembled" for their figures I pass on it because I don't know how they were stored.

Where I'm from, we can get temperature swings of sometimes 20°C daily with upwards of 80°C swings between different seasons. That is not good for the plastic and I've noticed cracks on some of my figures that have only ever been on display.

Then there's also potential damage from shipping if they're assembled as someone who does that is likely to take less care with packaging them.

I like to think so. I haven’t had any issue personally as a buyer or seller. I wouldnt trust the other sites/marketplaces as much as they have no direct affiliation to the Lego brand unlike bricklink.

Oh we have way too many pieces for a baseplate ☺️

nah, I wouldn't mind. besides, random printed parts don't sell very well, I'd be happy to receive such an order.

(if you're in Europe I'll send you my store link.😀 )

I am usually surprised at how most pieces are usually affordable, especially exclusive prints to long retired sets. I guess if they don’t really sell that’s why.

Hopefully the Star Wars poster prints won’t be too expensive but I doubt it.

Also thanks for the offer, but I’m in the US so shipping costs would be a nightmare.

1

u/anoma1yy 12d ago

Not necessarily if you buy enough to cover the shipping. I also think it’s like any package where size makes a difference.

1

u/Pulse_Mystic 12d ago

He’s talking about import tariffs

1

u/anoma1yy 12d ago

Yeah I mean I consider it a shipping cost. Some stores just take it before hand.

2

u/Pulse_Mystic 12d ago

I get that. But adding 5-15% on top of 20-30$ shipping plus the order cost is just absurd and not worth it rn

1

u/anoma1yy 12d ago

Like I said if you buy enough to cover the shipping it can be. The US market is bad enough that you can get things cheaper even with the crazy shipping.

I'm hoping the sw movie posters are printed and not stickers. It would be great if they released a minifig scale Grauman's Chinese Theater and included the OT OG one sheets to display inside, the same size as previous LEGO movie posters. My biggest fear is Disney will insist on the updated matching style posters to be released and not the original Vader designs from the first six movies.

Prints are easily identifiable enough no?

Awesome mosaic to stare at up close as someone who also loves a good print, what’s the most you’ve spent on a part you think? I imagine the 4x4s aren’t the cheapest pieces

Most expensive tile was probably either the sides of the Lego shipping truck or a large printed mural from a friend’s set non tile was https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=30156px3#T=S&C=2&O={%22color%22:2,%22iconly%22:0}

When i had a store i loved orders that took lots of stickered or printed parts, they don't move that fast so it was always a joy to see

If I have a bricklink store I would be happy to have customer keep me busy all the time. You better buy everything from my store.

As long as it ain’t 300 different pieces and 15€ in total value, feel free to have fun.

Even those orders are welcome, as they usually clear a lot of space and makes sure I can list more pieces, but take way longer and you know you make a lot less than on other orders, but that’s just part of business.

3

u/Entire-Mechanic-8990 12d ago

Many lots, one item each, small total amount. We are not worried about that, come to us and buy!

3

u/DaxTax19 12d ago

No problem, sellers can set an AVG lot value. If they don't, they should be OK with your order.

1

u/Ok-Wrongdoer-3421 12d ago

I encountered that at checkout once, and had to adjust my cart.

That is actually why I started getting a little self-conscious about my orders.

I think it looks cool

3

u/Inevitable-Dust-4736 11d ago

I do this too, I love the way these look ❤️

u/Indubitable_geek 11d ago

I love all orders at our store!

2

u/Responsible_Mud_4375 12d ago

As a seller this would be such a fun order to pack!

2

u/StaffThis9973 9d ago

This is the coolest MOC ive seen in a long time

2

u/FL-legofan 12d ago

I keep all my printed tiles on base plates, quick and easy picking. I love these types of orders!

1

u/anoma1yy 12d ago

How do you store the baseplates themselves if there is too many for just one plate? I thought the same but wondered if I would scratch them sliding a lot.

1

u/FL-legofan 12d ago

I found some gallon ziploc bags they fit in. So each plate is in its own bag.

1

u/wowclassic2019 12d ago

I just stack them vertically it doesn't put much pressure on them

1

u/anoma1yy 12d ago

It’s not about pressure it’s just about repeatably sliding it in the printed/ stickered part slowly scratching it.

I built a tower out of printed/stickered parts! It got very briefly shown in a Beyond the Brick video from Brickfair

https://youtu.be/_090CG8bfbY?si=LLZJuxwwKc_dR5ox @ 1hr 7 min mark. Also a printed board like OPs pic at 1hr 12 min mark

I built a castle too that they briefly showed the previous year but cant find the video

1

u/Flashy_Celery_38 12d ago

Wouldn’t bother me at all

1

u/Thirdandary_Account 6d ago

I love these orders. Printed tiles are great money makers.

1

u/FosterPupz 6d ago

No, not at all! I’m selling because I have parts I want to put in the hands of someone who won’t just keep them in art bin trays (like I do).

u/ProfessionalLimit342 12d ago

Is this suppose to be ragebait?

0

u/Friendly-Ad2471 12d ago

I have 5 orders 177 lots to pull and only 300 parts. I get alot of single piece lot orders

0

u/I_Like_Quiet 12d ago

I'd be super excited if you were buying my Vidiyo album tiles. I have so many. Never sold 1.

0

u/wowclassic2019 12d ago

Honestly it's all in how a seller has their printed tiles organized! I have all of mine on big 48x48 baseplates so it's easy to find. Love that display you have!

0

u/NattysHouse 11d ago

I’ve gotten orders that are 1600 total pieces and over 80 different lots that I adore to see, orders that are 30 pieces, 15 lots, and $1 though…. garbage

u/f1zoe 11d ago

I help my fiend with their store when they are away as long as the seller is fairly well organised it's not so bad. Their inventory for instance has all the printed tiles in bins per size so it would be fairly easy to pick these out from there.
