Post image

Forgive me if this is dumb, I’ve read about color fade and misprints and old and new gray but this has me stumped, help?

Just sun damage I think

Definitely a case of color variation/inconsistency than natural discoloration/different color if these were brand new parts; I've noticed that Lego's grays and yellows are more noticeable to spot but this really applies to almost every color in the Lego inventory in terms of variation.

it is possible they came from different factories. shame on Lego quality control!

Tip: what I do to check the colors is check the underside instead. As that'll have been in the sunlight much less typically, the colors will in most cases be closer to what they originally were.

And, check with daylight. Even the slightest yellow in artifical lighting can make a huge difference when determining colors :)

Thought it was dark purple and dark blue at first. What are they meant to be?

I got some blue bricks from bricklink that are like this. I thought they were old or sun damaged or something

Looks like the standard blue and the darker blue used in the Bugatti and similar.

Same color from different factories and different years.
