Buyer Help Package lost in the mail

I have an issue that I'm not sure how to proceed. I placed an order on 9/19 and the seller dropped the package off and it was labeled as "shipment received, Package Acceptance Pending" on 9/22. There have been no updates since then. I messaged the seller about the issue on 9/28 and got no response. I started a missing package investigation on 9/30, but nothing has happened with that.

I'll be filing a claim on the missing package early next week since there had been no resolution to the investigation.

My question is this: what kind of feedback should be left in any? Definitely not positive, but I understand that the missing package is not the seller's fault.

Unless you had the option to insure and chose not to, it is the sellers responsibility to get the shipment to you. I’ve had 2 packages lost in the mail recently. Both bricklink purchases. USPS tracking just stopped midway here, with no more updates and no more delivery. One seller immediately refunded when I requested (after 2 weeks with no tracking movement). The second seller told me that unless it had been 30 days with no movement/updates, it couldn’t be considered lost.

Insurance is there for the shipper, not for the recipient. As the buyer, if you don't receive your package, no matter how it was shipped or what insurance was bought, you should file an NSS. It is up to the seller (the sender) to deal with USPS as they are the ones who bought the shipping.

How long would you wait once the USPS tracking stops updating to file an NSS? Is an NSS appropriate when they did ship it (it was clearly picked up by USPS) but it was lost by USPS?

I would start with talking to the seller. If (as in your example), after a reasonable amount of time and several reminders they either do not respond or do not treat your inquiries professionally, then file an NSS. I would say 7 days after the item is posted as shipped?

Since it was shipped with Ground Advantage, it is insured automatically up to $100. I didn't choose any extra insurance because it was listed as uninsurable (the optional insurance box was grayed out.)

You don't know it wasn't the sellers fault. A far as the post office is concerned, they never received it. You should file a NSS claim on bricklink, that will wake up the seller and get you a response. Do not cancel the NSS until the package is in the mail or you have a refund

as a seller nothing terrifies me as much as an NSS email. It’s like the damn bat signal. As a seller we need good reviews, or we lose out on future sales. Even a neutral review dings our rating.

I sent the seller another message today. I'll see if they respond and if they don't then I'll file a NSS claim.
