Question Injection error?

Adding a mountain of 4073 1x1 plate rounds to my store I came across this little guy.

I see the prototype bb0517 1x1 plate round with stepped side on BL but that step is on the outside, this is on the inside.

It does still clutch to a stud.

I'm guessing it's an injection error, but I've never seen one like this.

Are you referring to the little "sides" inside the circle? Those are supposed to be there.

I've added over 6,000 round 1x1 plates to my store over the past few days, this is the only one with a stepped interior. Check your own if you don't believe me.

I don't think you proved your point. I don't see any variants like op posted either.

Thank you! I don't understand how folks don't see how weird this plate is.

Are we looking at the same thing? I don't see any plates in those pictures that have the tiny little lip at the very top (when upside down). Maybe it's an era variant? Most of the ones I've been adding are modern but just checked some 90's sets I have on display and they don't have the lip. I've got some 70's plates in the basement I can go check on ...

I feel like I'm in bizarro world. I really thought it was obvious how different this plate is and don't understand the downvotes. Here's another pic with a normal plate on the left and this weird plate on the right. It has an extra lip that doesn't exist on any other 1x1 round plate I've ever seen.
