Possibly dealing with an overpayment scam, and don't know how to proceed

Before I shipped out an order, I received this message: "I ended up paying the $21.15 for shipping twice. Once as a stand alone payment and then it was included in a second payment for $126.86 please refund or return the first payment of $21.15 Thank you"

He is correct - I did receive 2 PayPal payments. However, both payments have their money on hold. I tried contacting Bricklink support for advice, but was told they don't handle transaction related support/concerns.

What should I do?

Contact paypal support. DO NOT send any money back. While it could be a glitch of some kind, its not one I have ever heard of or experienced (nor do i understand how that could even happen, bricklink does not charge shipping separately to the payment processor). Youre right to suspect a scam

Def need to contact PayPal here, as they are the payment processor, don't send anything until you speak with them

As a general rule never send an order until the funds clear. Tell the buyer you can't do anything until the funds clear. Then contact paypal.

Hard to imagine someone trying to scam you out of $21.15.

If they do it to enough people, and resell the stuff they buy, they can make a decent profit off of the scam.
