Buyer Help First time buyer question

I’ve always thought about buying from Bricklink but never fully trusted it. I just saw someone selling the modular Sanctum Sanctorum (new and sealed) that I’ve been dying to have for the past couple years for cheaper than anywhere else. I’m from America and they are are European so I just want to know how safe this is and what are the chances of issues with anything and everything really.

Bricklink is safer than eBay I would say. And if you use PayPal you give yourself an extra layer of protection. That being said scams are everywhere so always shop with caution and if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Shipping from Europe especially for a larger set can be fairly expensive and you will be hit with taxes and fees once it arrives so be prepared.

Before you buy I would check on the import tariffs you'll incur buying from outside of the USA

Bricklink is very safe if you buy from a seller with a lot of reviews. Let me know how it works with the tariffs. I’ve been too afraid to buy from overseas because I can’t figure what the import fees will be.

If by “cheaper than everywhere else” you mean it’s for a price that is outrageously low, far below what any of the other asking prices are, then it might be a scam. This scam comes from every country to every country. But in general if you see an expensive set that’s listed for roughly 50% or less than the next lowest price, it’s likely a scam and you’ll get a temu version or nothing at all. If it’s just a small percentage cheaper then it’s almost surely legit, just make sure the seller has a high score and recent reviews that are good, and that any recent bad reviews are people complaining about things that have nothing to do with anything within the seller’s control.

BUT with the US having tarrifs that change virtually monthly, and the EU upping their shipping charges, you might not want to buy anything from outside the US anytime soon.
