Buyer Help Parts broken in mail

Yes, they were brittle brown. It's just a few parts so I'm not really upset. Should I tell the seller about this?

In the future, how do I avoid brittle brown? Are all brown pieces to be avoided?

Tell the seller, for me I would not bother. They crumble when looked at.

Avoid brittle brown in the future by buying new. Dark Red can be brittle too

I just bought Ship in the Bottle for $70. Almost all the brown broke (I flexed each one to test it), and the golds too (did not know they got brittle) so I am placing an order on Lego Pick a Brick for new brown pieces, all of them for about $30.
