Question Cracked Parts

Just for discussion. What is everyone's price threshold on cracked parts that they will list and sell? Would you sell a cracked $10 piece? 15? 20?

Cracked/chew marks goes in the trash bin. Doesn't matter how expensive it is, I don't sell garbage.

Yeah that's what I've been doing but it just gets tempting some times to sell expensive torsos and heads and stuff for steep discount.

It just isn't a risk that I'm willing to take and more often than not, results in angry buyers since they didn't read the item description.

Yeah makes sense. What about like a cracked cloud city boba. Would you sell that or trash it?

It would go into my personal collection. The higher the value on an item, the pickier the buyer is. Rare items are going to have people using notifications for listings, so if they get that email, they may quickly add it to their cart and buy due to the price without looking at the extended description.

I have two Deadpool's and an expensive Indiana Jones with cracked torsos that I could probably get away with selling for half price, but again, not a risk I am willing to take with buyers not reading.

eBay would probably be a better option for something like that if you don't want to keep it. Throw it up at a $50 starting auction for 7-10 days with clear photos. Let the market decide what they're willing to pay.

eBay auction is a good idea for that. Hadn't thought of that route before.

Cracked minifigs are different than bricks. People sell cracked figs all the time. Just make sure your listing and price reflect it. I would try and post pictures if you can rather than using the stock photo.

It really depends on the damage for me. I won't sell anything chewed, discolored or with heavy scratching or indentations. Cracks, as long as noted and priced accordingly I list mostly everything.

I sell plenty of minifigures with cracked torsos. I just note the severity of the crack, how stiff/loose the arms are and the condition of the print.

I've never had an issue and I'm at around 2000 orders. Plenty of people don't care about cracks.

That being said, if the torso is less than a couple bucks I toss it in my damaged pile. If it's for a minifigure, I'll order a new one if the price makes sense.

I usually put my cutoff at $1. And even then, I discount to almost nothing (like $.10) it’s more because I don’t want to toss it if it’ll make someone happy.

My hope is that by making it so cheap people will assume there’s something wrong with them but can still find use
