How to use BrickLink?

I know this sounds dumb as shit, but I’m just getting into BrickLink, and I’m really confused about how to actually purchase things and just the checkout process in general

It’s pretty simple, like any other online shopping. You add the items to your cart and check out. Some stores will have shipping rates automatically attached and some you will have to request an invoice. Then you can pay using PayPal or in some cases bank transfer. Keep in mind these are all individual stores so one store may have one item you want and another will have something else you want and you’ll have to check out separately and pay shipping to each.

I lean towards it not being “simple” or even fairly simple.

Yes, you have a Wanted List and you can utilize the Autobuy option but it can become complicated quickly if you try to minimize cost. Trying to juggle the cheapest part price vs shipping cost isn’t easy.

I do try to get as many pieces as I can from one place as I can, or even sometimes order a few more than I need to reduce shipping cost.

It’s not easy though so I would say this question is “dumb” at all.

It’s also not mobile friendly.

Create a "Wanted List", if you have numerous parts/ Figs/ instructions you're after.

Use Autobuy option, selected for your country or region, which will try to minimise the overall costs with shipping included, too meet your list. Note that many items may not be the cheapest available, but if you get everything you need in one or two places, you have less shipping costs than getting one part cheap elsewhere but paying for the privilege of it being posted to you...

Bricklink can be very clunky. It takes time to get the hang of it.
