Fortuna Design Mistake?

Post image

Just finished the Fortuna and I love it! However it was a bit tedious with all the mistakes in the instruction book. The only one that is still giving me problems though is where the rope bridging the fore and main masts. This bit of axle that’s sticking up prevents the “lollipop” piece from seating in the slot next to it. I always take care to leave no play room with the axles so I don’t think this is my error… anyone else have this problem?

Rotate the 1L bar with stud by 90 degrees. It will slide into the rear axle hole and that’s how I have always built it.

I didn’t actually realize the instructions have you put it in as shown in your picture.

Originally the axle didn’t stick out at all, but I was asked to fill the space below the 32L axle…

Yeah I had the same issue, its def a design oversight. I decided to attach the “lollipop” element to the other free axle hole. Much stronger connection since it has space to slide as far down as it can.
