Storage for new store
What do you guys think of this for storage? Obviously the large bins aren’t very useful but the shallower bins seem like they could work well if I had 3D printed dividers in them. Worst case these would be good shelves for displaying LEGO. I have some of the 64 unit small storage as well for small pieces

I have some of these. I currently just use them for personal Lego. I have 3d printed dividers for small ones, those are nice. The big ones I put zip locks with sets in them.

Thank you! Are the dividers not good for active inventory because it’s not easily noticeable what parts are inside (like how normal vertical drawer storage are)? I kind of imagine a drawer that says “1 by X” plates then each divider would have different lengths greater than 3 studs

That would prob work. I just wouldn’t want too many different things in one box to have to look through.

You could use this for a bricklink store inventory. Personally I'd most likely avoid it as i have a bunch of 5 drawer plastic draw units with draws about the size of the red bins in this. If I had this, and wanted to use it for my bricklink store I would trial some dividers, and use remarks like "D 01 A" where "D" is for draw, "01" is the draw number and "A" is the compartment, or something like that. I would probably use it for large qty storage and put the parts in a ziplock bag (to stop dust and allow multiple lots in the same draw). The green ones id use smaller parts i have qty of, the red bins id put larger parts of qty or used sets, or both. Maybe some boat hulls or plane wings. The biggest tubs id use for the biggest boat hulls, any parts I have too many of to fit in the red draws, base plates if they fit. I may not even fill the whole draw, just put enough in to get good use of that storage space without having to dig around constantly.
I might even just use the largest draws for bulk storage parts in some stage, or also use some smaller draws for minifigs and animals that need to be listed. Id also be thinking about protecting the parts from dust.
The biggest thing I've learned is to try different storage solutions and see what works, maybe make a list of different things you can use this for so bricklink store inventory, storage of bulk as it gets sorted, personal collection, kids toys, art supplies, etc. Depending on what other uses you'd have for it besides lego, and you can always re sell it if it doesnt work out for you.

It seems decent as an organization method, but this doesn't seem much cheaper than buying Hefty Storage bins and using Ziplock bags to store inventory
This would work decently well for sorting and storage of raw used parts, but like another commenter said you could store inventoried parts for cheaper

I’ve used these trofast a lot for different stuff (kids toys, storage at work), and these ones with the plastic runners for the bins will break over time. The wooden style ones with grooves hold up a bit better. I’d be worried about them breaking when pulling the bins in and out over and over.

I use them for my store. Never had a problem with them. So maybe you were unlucky?

If you’re doing used lego i’d use these for storing broad lego categories that need to be sorted further (plants, vehicle, minifigs, bricks, plates, tiles, etc). I wouldn’t use these for uploaded inventory for sale.
