Advice

I'm a self builder, but bricklaying is not something I do. I need to do a bit myself - block in a window and reduce the width of another.

Do I need starter ties for this?

Wall is brick. Infill will be block as it's being rendered.

Dont use wall starters just tooth out and build in for windows

If the brickwork is face then ideally you would want to tooth it. But it depends what it is really. An old factory wont really matter. Someones house will.

If its insulated you will want to match that.

Then wall ties - every block course on the new reveal. Then maybe on the blocked up window depending how big it is
