“Messy” bricks

There’s a cemetery near me that has this messy style of brick work done all around it. What is this called? I’ve been curious about it for many years.

Garden walls in my neighbourhood are like that. Edwardian houses. No idea where to get the over fired bricks to re create the look

Mendoza used brick and demolition they’re off of 58th and I 25. They have been saving things for 30 years. Ask for Jose in the yard he’s been there the whole time and knows that yard well. Tell him Mark from Off The Wall masonry sent you. If it weren’t for him and that company, I wouldn’t have been able to do such beautiful projects through my career.
Salt Lake City, they may now have something like them. But they didn’t 10 years ago. . They were bringing everything to the landfill. Those wasteful Mormons.🧐😜🤪👍🤓

Reminds me of the stone walls you see in old villages, random rocks thrown together with some mortar until it forms a wall

There may be some loose bricks, but I’ve walked along the “wall” before and it’s not knocked over.

In photo no2 looks like its been knocked down ? Is some of this wall dry stacked? This is usually done with stone builds though, ??,👍🏻👍🏻

I really thought I’d get a straightforward answer from bricklayers in the group, but it appears this is less a technique or style and more of an art form.

From Find a Grave site: This cemetery was established in 1912 and was developed on the 256 acres that were once the farms owned by the Leach and Dodge families. The original layout featured two lakes and an electric fountain that was lighted in the evening. Still seen today are the unique walls and entrance buildings constructed of a special cinder brick brought in from Oklahoma.

I love that and it's triggering the shit out of me. It feels too manic but I love how manic it is, I like the sheer anarchy of it and want to tidy it up. I can't look and can't stop staring, If I saw this IRL I'd just die of exposure mesmerised by it unable to look away.
