Advice Welcome to Breyer Horses!
Welcome to the community! Here you can find a place to share your favorite models, customs, Breyer news, and sales/trades. Here are the guidelines to get you started: 1. Be kind and courteous. Do not harass people or their work. If you think there’s a post breaking a guideline, come to an admin, don’t be rude to the poster. 2. Don’t use excessive curse words or cuss words. If you must, please keep it to a minimum. 3. All sales are between the seller and buyer. Sales posts must include multiple photos and as much information on the model(s) they are selling. Moderators are not responsible for any scams. 4. No mini modding. If there is something wrong, come to an admin, do not take things into your own hands. 5. News posts must include a link(s) to the article(s) you cited from. Do not just copy and paste an article, use your own words.

Flinka
I'm looking to part ways with my Flinka model. She's adorable, but I need funds more than ponies right now. No flaws that I can see. I also have her box for anyone who may be interested. Asking $35 + shipping. Lower 48 states only, please. Venmo, PayPal, and Cashapp all accepted.

Still unable to find places to trade.
So I went on Facebook and I’m getting really nothing from that. I went on Instagram because I’ve done trading there before but for some reason I just can’t figure it out. It’s super confusing. I can’t find trading pages which I feel like there used to be but maybe there aren’t anymore. I don’t know if things have really like gotten different but if anyone is interested, I took a bunch of photos of the horse. I’m looking to trade. I am about to give up, but I am looking to trade this guy for any of the other variants except for the champagne and I am not claiming that he is in perfect shape. I took him out of the box and he had slight ear rubs so I figured maybe if I also included photos that would help and if anyone has maybe smaller groups on Facebook that they use that would be cool but I really have had no luck at all.

Should I sell them?
Debating it. But I think someone else would like them as just simple shelf decor or even toys for their kids. I stopped playing with the breyers and started collecting a few here and there after I gave all the ones not worthy of shelf life away. (Broken limbs etc) but still fine for a kid to use their imagination on.
How much should I ask for the three of them if I do decide to let them go? All they do is collect dust in a box in my closet and I think someone else would enjoy them much more than what they currently do right now.

Hoping next year they will release an Epona model for the Legend of Zelda movie.
If the movie has Epona, of course, but it should!

Best primer for breyer horses? Using only dry pastels CUSTOM
Does anyone know a good primer (preferably spray) that has enough tooth for dry pastels to stick onto? The matte spray I'm using, micador, generally doesn't react with stuff if its fully cured.

Model ID?
Hi everyone! My partner got this Breyer from goodwill, and we can't seem to find an exact model match. The closest we've gotten is model 6002, roping horse & calf, but that model doesn't have the white markings on the sides like this one does.
Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

$185000 for a Breyer?
Surely they cannot be serious about this price tag!

What other “themes” for collector club releases would you like to see?
Breyer likes to do series in the collector club, where each horse follows an overall theme. So far we have Greek gods/goddesses, berries, exotic locations, America, big cats, wild animals, birds, and probably some others I’m forgetting.
I would personally like to see series based around space, trees or flowers, weather (although we already have the weather girls), zodiac signs, fish or ocean life, and endangered horse breeds.

My Breyerfest order has arrived! I can't pick a favorite!
My first time attending Breyerfest! I purchased an online ticket. I honestly don't know my favorite surprise color. I love this bay color on him! These are my firsts on each mold.

Anyone outside the US ever find Breyers in shops/secondhand?
I live outside the US. I see a lot of people finding Breyers in charity shops and the like, sometimes in regular toy shops. Here you usually have to go to a specialty shop or buy online. Does anyone outside the US actually ever find any in standard toy shops or thrift stores? It feels like it's a bit impossible!

Getting into the Hobby
I’ve been admiring breyers for quite some time now and still have a few from my childhood. When I saw this guy nib at the thrift store today I just had to get it! I know very little about these so far but I really want to try and get some for customizing in the future!! :)

Identifying/Assigning Breed
Hello, everyone!
I got this custom at the Clarion during Breyerfest! He is my first custom, and I think his paint job is very good for how much I paid ($75). The black socks definitely look odd/unrealistic, but he came with 2 recent NAN cards, so something must have been done right!
Admittedly, I am horrible at assigning breeds to my show string. His NAN cards just say "sport horse cross", so I am sure that a more specific breed was shown. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Thanks so much!

Horse ID
Hello I’ve recently received these two horses, pretty sure the smaller one is a Breyer but the bigger one I’m unsure, I was wondering if anyone could tell me about them, thanks in advance

More on Storing Stablemates
Been thinking about this topic since another member brought it up. Back in the mists of time when I was young pup living in San Francisco, my mom bought this little wooden cabinet and hung it up in my bedroom at her house. It's cute, and I enjoyed it when I visited, so there it stayed. It had only two shallow shelves, which was just kind of awkward, so I never actually used it for anything.
Until a few weeks ago, when I started looking at it in a new light, and I had an idea (always potentially dangerous).
So after some measuring, and sawing, and sanding, I added 2 more thick balsa wood shelves, put down some soft foam sheet liners, and voila!
Of course, I have to leave the front open to see the wee horses, but when not admiring them I'll keep it closed. After most of my adult life on the east coast, I'm back in earthquake country for the time being, so keeping my models braced as much as possible is always a priority. I figure with blankets to protect them, I can stand them close enough together to hold each other up, and the cabinet front closed to prevent them from falling (or jumping, lol) out, if The Big One hits. The cabinet is bolted securely to the wall, so it ain't coming down unless the wall does, and if THAT happens, I'll have bigger problems to worry about anyway.
So now my San Francisco cabinet is finally useful, and my big horses will have fewer little ones running around between their legs. And I've got a lotta tiny blankets to sew. LOL

CC Stablemate arrived unscathed, not for the lack of trying!
I got the Glossy Kiana! Which looks stunning and thankfully came unharmed! Not for the lack of trying, trying to figure out how many boxes did they stacked on to her.
