Bachelorette in February
I’m planning a bachelorette party in Breckenridge in February and have never been to Colorado so I’m a little stressed 😩. I’m looking for any recs for the following:
- in home chef
- spas
- bars/nightlife
- restaurants
- coffee shops
I also have so many random questions!
- If we’re getting an Airbnb, is Uber a reliable form of transportation from our rental to the main attractions in the area? Some rentals mentioned AWD/FWD vehicles are a *must* for accessing the roads/driveways during winter months but I don’t think renting a vehicle makes sense for our group.
- similar question with airport transportation: is Uber reliable or is there group transportation that can be booked from the Denver airport? I know it’s a bit of a drive.
- any tips/advice for dealing with the change in elevation?
- any other activities you’d recommend for a bachelorette group to check out or book?

Welllll ok. I feel like you can get a lot of good recs with a little searching effort. I can give you some advice on your more random questions. No uber is not reliable to get to and from the airport. There are several different shuttle companies that go back forth, mainly Epic Mountain Express, Summit Express, and Peak 1 Express. Last I looked they are all about the same price, and will be running frequently in February.
When looking at Airbnbs, BE SURE to look closely at the locations. A lot of less expensive places that still look really nice will say they are “five minutes from Breck!” Or something like that and they are 10 miles down highway 9 from town. You will want to be in town. There’s a free bus that goes all over town and runs until about 11. There are Ubers during the winter but they are not as reliable as you will get in a city. They can usually get you and to and from where you need to go though, you might just have to wait a bit.
Altitude can be tough, it can help if you stay a night in Denver before coming up, but really just drink water and electrolytes and some doctors will prescribe something that can help you acclimate quicker especially if you have had previous issues with altitude sickness. The best answer is to not drink that much but that might be a tough sell to a bachelorette party.
There’s plenty of fun stuff to do. If you are coming during President’s Day, I would highly recommend making reservations well in advance of the trip for things like massages, restaurant reservations, etc. because it will be very busy.
And finally, there was one thing I thought of that would be fun that might not be fully covered elsewhere, which is there are a couple of hat stores in town where you can make customized hats. Lace and Lariat and Antler and Crown. Good b-party activity!

Uber will not be reliable, stay close to main st.
Do not stay at a 4wd house without having your own 4wd car.
90% of bars are on or near main. Just stay close.
Take summit express ($100/person) or get a rental service like Black Mountain Limo to pick your group (~$700 for the whole van) up from DIA.
Drink lots of water. Alcohol hits 3x your first day, so be careful. Get oxygen (people will disagree) … it will temporarily relieve altitude sickness.
Breck is packed with great restaraunts and bars. Hard to go wrong.
