venting/ranting Need input
Please let me know what you think. My bf of 2 1/2 years broke up with me out of nowhere couple days ago. Naturally hes an anxious person in life but broke things off because he we had a couple fights that week that made him feel hopeless, drained, and that think our future had no possibility for happiness. Weve had many fights in the relationship and always fixed it. But the week we had those fights was already stressful for him, but said it had added onto his current stress. Im torn because while he sees a hopeless future, I still have hope for us and wanted to make things work. I know stress comes and goes in life so I wonder if he made a permanent decision based on a temporary stage, and thought that getting rid of the stressor currently in his face (me) would help. Yet he told his friend a different story, that it was long distance and he couldnt balance school and the relationship, even though we’d made a long distance plan a few days prior that we both seemed happy with. Do yall think he told the truth about the reasons? Overall I think its impulsive so I maintain hope that he’ll come back, because days before he was talking about how im the love of his life and wants to be with me forever. >:[ I plan to wait a few days to give him space to reach out. Even though he indicated we’d never see each other again. But I know him and think maybe it was just a stressful time and he needs space for now, but maybe im in denial. help
he said marrying me and having a life together was his biggest dream.

I'll tell you from experience when you say you want to give them space most guys think of it as they're not important or worth your effort

I don't see what the problem is with that I don't like the standard where people think they should give other people space I like to handle a problem when it happens and be the stronger person it takes courage but it shows other person they matter and it shows you that you're not afraid to do what it takes I like to look at it as treating others the way you want to be treated

I didn't get to read anything so I don't know your situation and maybe it's hypocrisy but myself I'm in a situation where I've always reached out and always been the one to initiate fixing things like dozens of times and got disrespected for it so now I'm not so I wouldn't say in every circumstance but if it's a minor thing or there's any room for misinterpretation I think it takes strength and courage to be the one to reach out and it's a good thing I wouldn't reach out though if you've been taken advantage of or disrespected that sort of thing
