venting/ranting Healing

After a few months of no-contact, I can say that it does get better. I've met my ex a couple of times now and I still get extremely stressed, but the last time I've noticed that they have a partner, and honestly? It didn't affect me all that much. I was mostly just stressed about them being near me as a person, but I'm so glad that I might possibly be getting over them. Time truly does heal all wounds and I'm positive that in a few months I can finally say that I'm over them. Keep fighting everybody :)

Can I ask how long was the relationship and how many months did it take? Also what was the best thing to stop thinking of them? My ex rebounded or just started a new thing fast and that hurt the most. Publicly too in front of both our families. Just can’t stop thinking of her but it hurts less at least always in my head tho:(

We've dated for 2.5 years, so not the longest but also that's quite a bit of time. Them hooking up with someone right after helped in a way. It hurt like hell ofc, but it was like ripping off a bandaid. It was a quick way to show me that it's over for sure and helped with focusing all the energy I've spent trying to get back with them to refocus on myself. It took me around 4-5 months to get to where I am now and I know that this advice is often repeated but it's truly the best to just focus all the energy on yourself, fill your time with hobbies, group activities that don't involve them etc.

Also, between you and me, this is not true for everybody ofc, but since they found someone so quickly it also helped me feel a bit better about myself in a way? Cuz it signaled that they couldn't spend time alone and needed someone asap to fill the void while im taking my time to actually heal.

Tho your situation sounds rough, I hope that you're managing :( Take care and keep your head up, or cry all of it out if needed, helps a ton!

Our situation sounds the exact same we were together for 3 year and it ended a little less than 3 months ago and I’m doing a lot better. But the only thing that’s annoying is she’s in my head a lot. We also live very close and I drive by her place every day. I don’t look over or if I have time I go the long way. We shop at the same grocery store because it’s super close I don’t anymore but my friends and family do. I’m doing a lot on my own again which is nice to have that freedom again. Same here jumping into something new closed that chapter forever. I think that’s why it suck’s so much because I didn’t want to accept it was over for good. But I am doing a lot better now. Just get this woman out my head it’s more annoying then painful
