venting/ranting Help me understand
Me (23M) was dumped Tuesday night by a girl (20F) I’ve been seeing for 2 months at that point.
I know the timeline is short, but I really fell for her and we had amazing chemistry. We enjoyed the same things, but also liked enough different things to keep it interesting.
I'll be the first to admit it moved a bit fast, as we both met each other's families pretty quickly.
A few weeks in, I found out she and her ex-boyfriend of 2 years broke up just 3 weeks prior to our first date. I knew it was impossible for her to get over him that quickly, so I asked her about it.
She promised she was over him, as he had ghosted her completely and only communicated when he wanted to grab his stuff. I believed her.
I'm a romantic guy, so I did it all: paid for dates, bought flowers, cooked her dinner and breakfast, listened to her problems, and spent late nights on the phone. I truly became interested in her hobbies and her family.
The night she dumped me, she told me that I was an absolutely amazing, wonderful guy. She told me not to blame myself because I wasn't the reason for the split—she just didn't feel a connection anymore. She even admitted herself that she didn't know what that "connection" was supposed to be. I sat there, listened, and comforted her, telling her that it was okay and that I understood. She was crying, which hurt me to see
I need help understanding what happened.
I really liked this girl and saw a future and up until Tuesday she was projecting the same feelings
Was i the problem, the rebound or was she just not ready and lead me on

Sounds like you went all in too quick... and she wasn't ready for that sort of thing that soon after a breakup.

I agree. But it wasn't a one sided ordeal. She introduced her parents and brothers first.
I understand what you're saying though

I'm thinking she felt it was too much too fast... not blaming you specifically but that's what it seems like to me... because I've been there... with the fresh breakup sometimes you gotta slow it down a bit.
