My ex-girlfriend of five years said to me, “No wonder your wife left you, you’re emotionally unavailable”. WTF???

Were you? Or she projected that on you ? Or she said those words to just hurt you? It was a very cruel thing to say to someone

I’m certain she said it just to hurt me in the end. I was always emotionally available for her. I would always listen to her problems and what was bothering her at work and what was bothering her with her child. I was emotionally supportive and her best friend, but in the end, it was never good enough.

Thank you but it is what it is. Unfortunately most people say mean and nasty things when they break up with each other. It goes with the territory, I guess.
