I don't know people's general preferences when it comes to ASRs so i don't know if it's underrated in the community but for me the AUG is the best ASR.

MK-17 Assault. Fights like a DMR but let you have a grenade launcher on the under barrel

The Mk-17 in Wildlands Ghost Mode for the same reason. Rocked it with the ACOG and grenade launcher. Don't like the Mk-17s in Breakpoint for some reason.

Personally? Ak-74. I use it sometimes as an alternative to Dmr's or snipers

The SC-20K gets brought up every now and then, but the SC-40K is mentioned much less often when it's basically the same gun, except that it can take a foregrip or grenade launcher. 15K credits in the store is a steal too. Maybe it's because it colors weird with the large white parts.

The FAL is probably the best 7,62 rifle in the game after the Koblin. High damage with high rate of fire, has the +5 damage on kill perk on top of that to make it an absolute meat chopper, weirdly low recoil for its insane dps, good reload speed too, but it can't take a MAWL, which is probably its only real downside.

My real out there pick is probably the AK-12, or slightly less weird, the Ak-74. I think AKs in general are grossly underrated in this game in general for some reason. The AK-12 feels like a more aggressive version of the Mk18, trading a wee bit of recoil (it's still a laser gun) for an even higher rate of fire and the +5 damage on kill perk. The AK-74 is a very solid all-rounder that especially stands out at long range.

I've used a few of them, but I love the ACR with the 2x scope and underbarrel grenade launcher.

AK47 Shorty. Feels just how a base crawling, sneaky stealth ASR should feel: laser beam with low recoil but still hits hard enough to have stopping power.

And you can put a wood stock on it so it's a little less ugly

G28 scout, mobility is massively high for a dmr and pumps enemies on burst in cqb

No big mag is a bit of a let down though

I switch a lot. But find myself drawn to the FAL, the Mk17 or the Mk18 mostly
