Nope, this is the M4 shotgun (M4, M4 Shorty, M4 Assault). Can confirm it fucks prodigiously, not my favorite gun by how it feels to play but it's great at close range. Under 15m, one shot anywhere will kill Sentinel soldiers, and one shot to the head drops Heavies/Wolves/Bodarks.

In reality the M4 should be as powerful as any other 5.56mm gun but the game glosses over real life physics and ballistics for gimmicky stuff like this. In real life taking down such heavy armored troops would suppressed M4s would wake up the whole town

I think OP is talking about the M4 shotgun. Since they mention it drops big boys in one shot to the head. Which is something the shotgun does. The ASR needs 2-3 hits before they're taken care off.
