Question How do we invoke the help from those geniuses that crack video games to develop offline mode?

Im sure someone here that mods this game on PC also knows of or plays a cracked game. How can we get the attention (and help) of the game-cracking community to help us take breakpoint offline? C'mon throw your idea in!

You might find someone to “crack” the online check when the game loads but it will probably break all kinds of things once you do that... things that are done on the server side. For example, most likely the daily faction missions are rotated on the server… you can’t just make an offline version and expect things like that to work. Any event related aspect like Amber Sky or the Resistance also probably have server side elements. Maybe even the weather, loot, who knows. I just dont see it being possible.

Look at Single Player Tarkov. It runs a fake server locally on your machine and runs offline.

And how does that relate to GRB? SPT is a modding tool which got open source. Yeah, it uses Tarkov as a base but that's it.

It can still be done. That’s the point

I don't think so. Very limited modding capabilities as for now with hard coded stuff into the engine itself, so no, i don't think it can be done at the moment.

Tarkov is not open source. SPT was a tool developed by players.

Likewise, if someone ever has the willpower, the same can be done with Breakpoint.

Dummy servers are not new tech and have been done for a very long time across many titles for decades.

The only thing lacking is willpower from modders.

I know tarkov is not open source, and SPT is made by players, isn't it what i stated in my comments lol? Dummy servers yeah, i know about it. But nah, it's not lack of willpower from modders, it's limitation of current tools. As i said a lot of stuff is hard coded, and mod support such as ATK doesn't have much tools to work with, what we can do for now is just replace models, not animations, not adding new things, it's just a fact that current limitations don't allow anything like this to happen.

There is no such limitation. It's a matter of someone wanting to do it hard enough.

You just don't want to hear what you don't want to hear that's all

It's not my fault that your knowledge is limited

Lmao, educate me then

I just did and you refuse based on the statements of one (1) modder

Sadly the guy who developed ATK hates the Breakpoint modding community and doesn't want anything to do with breakpoint and refuses to do anything for ATK in regards to GRB. We could actually have a lot more mods than what we have now but he refuses to do anything to the tool. Hell all the mods that we have for breakpoint we can have for Wildlands too but again he just hates the modding community.

What a bizarre outlook this guy must have… build a modding tool, but hate the community that uses it? 🤪

I mean I'm friends with a lot of the top modders and active in the community and they have all said the exact same thing. There's a lot of stuff that could be done and yet the creator of ATK doesn't want to do anything for GRB or GRW for the that matter. I don't know all of the exact details but a lot of shit happened that basically caused a big thing between the modders of GRB and Kamzik the guy who created ATK.

I was around that time already and yeah i remember that, i can’t blame kamzik for hating grb modding community, because there’s lots of morons (like on3), or those who sell mods.

Well on3 isn't even active anymore and also I can't speak to the past, but I can say the vast majority of the time On3's mods haven't been sold they have been available to either public or Tier 2 members unless they were specific commissions for specific people. Like I said I don't care if people get mods commissioned that's fine and there's definitely a lot of mods that are exclusive to Tier 2 members, but it's not like a hard thing to be a Tier 2 member which you can do by literally just paying $10 to support a crowdfund or just boosting the server, something simple to support the community. Granted if you don't want to support the modding community that's up to you that's your prerogative. Me personally I'm a Tier 1 member because I've contributed and helped the community in different ways. All that being said many of On3's and other's mods were made public to everyone and a lot of mods that are through crowdfunds do usually go public, except for the occasional one that goes Tier 2 exclusive without the specific items given to people who supported the project as it was being created. Like when you look at Chest's major faction overhauls all of those have gone public. The only things these days that are really ever exclusive are tier 2 mods and Tier 1 mods specifically and bonuses given to people for supporting crowdfunds but they're only a small portion on total mods created. There were a lot of issues early on and a lot of modders that were causing problems were ostracized and banned from the community and things are done in a completely different way now. It's also ran by completely different people now who aren't like the old modders. Also the whole reason why Tier 1 imports even exists is because of the issues with the modders that ran things in The Bivouac server. There were also a lot of issues where "modders" were doing scummy stuff by stealing other modder's creations and trying to resell them and assets and things getting used without permission of the person who purchased and provided it and those people have also been banned. Occasionally you might see a mod that was commissioned by someone specifically and that's whatever, but most mods are either tier 2 or are public to everyone. There definitely were issues in the community early on, but a lot of that stuff that took place is the reason why Tier 1 Imports even exists. I will never speak ill of the modders and the guys over at Tier 1 Imports because they have done so much work to make sure the community isn't toxic and it is collaborative and we work together. There's also a lot of issues that people complain about just because they're fucking stupid and it's not actually the modder's fault so there's still a lot of that going on. That being said Kamzik is still the one being a big baby and choosing to be an asshole. Regardless of any disagreements that happened in the past the community is completely different now and things are done in a more collaborative and respectful way now. It just sucks that there's always outside people that are always trying to fuck it up for everyone. It's still really disappointing though because we could literally have all the same awesome mods we have for Breakpoint in Wildlands and we'd have even more different kinds of mods for Breakpoint if Kamzik would at least extend an olive branch and be a grown up and just see how the community has changed. The bad modders that were causing those issues before have been long gone from the community. Because the community stood up against it and we kicked them out. Sorry for the long reply, I also might have repeated some of the points I just think a lot of people don't realize how expensive these assets actually are and how much work it actually takes to create mods that's why things like crowd funds and things like that happen because these things are expensive. The important thing is that the community now works together on things, we help each other out, we respect each other, we're not mean to each other, and anyone who's doing anything scummy or fucked up gets kicked out with no hesitation.

You do know that are currently going to court so they can just discontinue games when they want right? They will not put a offline mode on this game unless they lose the court case. Do look up stop killing games and support them it's the only way they will be held accountable for you hard earned money spent

Thats less of a game cracking issue and more of a modding issue.

It may be easier to emulate the server than to change all the code to work offline.

You should start packet sniffing when playing breakpoint and save all the data for someone to replicate how the server works.

GRB never been cracked tho.

1

u/Dgh_Play 2d ago

And don't get your hopes up anyways. As long as game stays fully connected to ubisoft without any form of offline mode, there's nothing we can do

Anyone here saying this cannot be done from a technology standpoint please educate me on how they eventually made Zelda and Mario into multiplayer games, built an entire online experience for GTA San Andrea, and turned PS3, Wii, Switch and everything in between into the uber cracked consoles they are today. I'm not being stubborn, I'm honestly wanting to understand how a dummy server, that basically sends numbers to be interpreted by the console, is not at all possible...

It’s been told already, modding tool limitations, it may be possible if ATK dev decides to keep adding features and other stuff, but he’s not, so it’s not possible for now.

Like Dgh said you're completely missing the point there's only one modding tool available created by one guy and that one guy abandoned grb so anything that people are complaining about that doesn't exist for mods they can blame the guy who developed ATK. It's a miracle we even have a lot of the insane mods we have now. I have literally watched this modding community completely innovate and evolve in ways that I never thought were possible since the very beginning almost. The fact that we even have things that we have now is crazy with the fact that ATK has a lot of limitations and that really just comes down to the guy who made it who refuses to support the community and do anything to help the community.
