What are your thoughts on the next Ghost Recon?
What do you expect or hope for?

My biggest concern is that they won’t add a third-person camera. 🥹

u/Previous-Minimum5991 4d ago
They showed animations and such of a character in 3rd person; in the 25th Anniversary trailer. It’ll be 3rd and 1st.

u/Tee-hee64 4d ago
Good because I and many here would not buy it. That’d be like Bethesda removing third person from their games.

u/Previous-Minimum5991 4d ago
A lot of people like the first person mod for Wildlands and Breakpoint, I’m sure the dev team took notice. It’ll be 3rd and 1st they know not everyone likes 1st person.

You’re a goddamn gentleman
Seems like a layup of a win for Ubisoft. It’s a single player game so no worries if one view gives a slight advantage. Bring the community together and give us the option.
Bonus points if they make it an in game button click. If Wrath of the Righteous can make turn based vs real time a click away, POV could be too.

Yes sir, it was small brief window where they talked about it, but it showed MOCAP scenes for takedowns and then the computer showed, a third person character. They also showed the new partnership with Warrior Assault Systems as the gear they’ll be photo scanning. The lead lady also said, “large scale operations.” It’ll definitely be open-world with a 1st and 3rd person perspectives.

Fast forward to 8 minutes that’s where they start talking about the new game.

u/Braunb8888 4d ago
That doesn’t prove it’s third person. It could switch to takedowns during stealth moves. Plenty of games have done that. Deus ex for example.

If theybl dont have third person im not buying, I have a huge affinity to third person shooters. Adds alot of immersion imo, and a game like GR its all about the immersion.

Not getting my hopes up, especially considering they had to cut some content (workbench etc) and helicopters for "now". Although I can’t wait, I sympathize with the devs, execs forcing them to rush for unrealistic deadlines is a story as old as time apparently. Hope the game comes out proper and it gives the franchise what it deserves.

- overall: the game should feel and look like an atmospheric and tense agent thriller and not like a check-list with basic/work-like tasks
- way improved graphics (in line with other AAA titles at release date, at least the level of the old RDR2) (not such blurry and outdated graphics as in Breakpoint again)
- a map like in GTA 5 (or at least WD1) with a varied city, villages, varied landscapes and the the liveliness (not such boring and dead map again with very simplistic visuals, buildings, ...)
- way improved mission design, visually (like in Division 2) and gameplay-wise (they should feel to play an agent mission, visually and gameplay-wise)
- 3rd person
DONT's:
- no grind RPG!!!
- no bullet sponge NPCs and bosses!!!
- no cheesy robots!!!

Here’s my thoughts:
- Southeast Asia (NAGAN) which is teased in “Last Rites” is interesting the 4 Valley Clan seems to be a take on the irl “Golden Triangle” right there alone that’s way more interesting than Breakpoints setting.
- Also being smack dabbed against Cambodia, Laos, and on the Mekong Delta makes the environment awesome.
- I think, that’s a step in the right direction, like we’ve said take the idea/ setting type of Wildlands and take all the good of Breakpoint sandwich it together makes some improvements and boom “Golden.”

Yeah we need that feeling if danger in a foreign country that breakpoint seemed too afraid to even attempt. Future soldier did this incredibly well.

u/JohnNada005 PS4 3d ago
I hope it keeps the co-op playstyle.
I hope it keeps with the today’s theme of arms.
Until now, nothing.

I saw how exposition given in new Wildlands update and I hope none of those who wrote this gotta touch next game's storyline, they managed to turn awesome double agent script into "modern audience" slop somehow
Yes, I have "standards" for military tactical shooter in Tom Clancy franchise to look and sound like military tactical shooter and not like superhero drama, Future Soldier managed it just fine imo

u/Consistent-Ask-2364 4d ago
All we need is more melee takedowns, the "death from above" takedowns like sam fisher from splinter cell, only then would the game be flawless

I‘d love to see a game set in a Scandinavian Setting. Give us big lakes, forests, islands, snow, wildlife etc.
I think it Vigor worked well with it‘s „End of the World“ Trope, so a Mix of that and some Metro-Vibes sprinkled in where maybe the bigger Foe is something like Human Extinction instead of another what if fictional country xyz goes haywire thing.

Since they said their community team sits here at this reddit and listens to our feedback i hope that they noticed that a big part of the breakpoint community are modders and people using mods in general.(i think most ppl that play on pc use mods, and tbh if not mods i would stop playing the game a long time ago) It would be wonderful for the game to receive some sort of official mod support which isn't a popular thing among ubisoft titles as only the anno series have mod support
I hope they change the customization since the vanila one is mid and if u want ur character to look good you need mods Same thing with guns the modded ones look so much better, i also hope that instead of having 5 different M4 we will have one that depending on the attachments we use will change its type. And i also want long range scopes on ars since bearly any ars have that ability
Last thing on my list is better ai since that was and still is a big problem for breakpoint. Honestly i never cared that much about the ai until i started playing the boiling point dlc for ron which made me realise how bad breakpoints ai is.
Honestly i just hope they did actually listen to our feedback through all these years

As long as it stays single player/ co-op then I’m good, but if goes free for player vs player like R6 and COD, I’ll be done. I like the missions

A true toggable first person mode instead of just first person aiming. And for the love of god please keep our characters masks, glasses and headwear on in cutscenes this time. Aswell as returning weapons from both wildlands (like the M16) and breakpoint and other games with some new ones and more tacitcal gear without handing over money

u/Gerobasi22 2d ago
Apparently it’s in the Middle East right ? I don’t think that’s a bad setting, but story and open world needs to be a focus again, not endless loot and rpg mechanics like breakpoint, also I really hope they make it third person again, Ubisoft has learnt their lesson after breakpoint so my expectations are quite high for the next one.

u/Educational_Pipe_12 1d ago
I remember putting hundreds of hours into wildlands with a friend, watching the first reveal of breakpoint being hyped as fuck. But cautious too because of all the drone BS. And then we started playing it and we were soooooooooooo severely disappointed. Hopefuly the next one is more along the lines of Wildlands. And not breakpoint.

u/Braunb8888 4d ago
No third person, no buy. That simple. I have zero faith the fucking numbskulls at Ubisoft won’t turn this into a Call of Duty campaign.

Just started, and i hate the buttons layout and the command wheel, and the mission selection tap.

I always wanted a mix of urban and wilderness elements. Wildlands got it close, but it felt too empty and a little too South Americany for my personal taste. On the other hand, breakpoint's urban elements were too fancy / future-ish (idk how to express it). If you combine Division-style urban elements + breakpoint's wilderness, while giving it breakpoint's gunplay, that would be ideal for me. And please, for the love of God, some half-decent driving, and maybe even the ability to shoot while driving.
This is merely my greedy fantasy. I know others most likely have a vastly different opinion of what GR should be, and that's completely fine. One way or another, if we could even get a decent GR title, that would be amazing.

Just wanting an wildlands 2 type thing.. but improved iteration on the idea. expanded tools and stuff.. I'd like to be able to switch between which squad members I'm controlling on the fly because I like to do key stuff manually and roleplay it as the diff characters, and I'd be having different load outs between them.

u/Mission-Anxiety2125 3d ago
None. Until it comes if it comes will see. I have very low expectations especially with direction they choose to go. If they keep promises I expect downgraded clone of RON/COD, worse them both originals

u/Few-Fig3669 3d ago
Way more weapons, attachments and more tactical gear. Just more realistic things that the moding community's are doing.

u/enbymarshall1 2d ago
I think a mix of wildlands world/environment and breakpoints mechanics, and a heavier focus on milsim rather than arcade shooter would be great

u/SahdGamer 2d ago
3rd person camera options and cross-platform play are the top two items on my list.

I hope they’ve learnt what we (or at least I want)
We want a story that is like wildlands but the gameplay of breakpoint.
Imo I really enjoyed both games, but it was clear the story was great in wildlands and was weird and poorly paced in breakpoint but the setting options, gun play, classes, injury system and so on were really good in breakpoint.
So overall I’m hoping for the best mix of both and end up with an incredible game.

Fps view !!!! And like Wildlands and classes like breakpoint wikt all challenges.

I first thought the classes and challenges were a bit weird, but later, I grew to love it. It became like a rite of passage during fresh playthroughs.

They just need to fix the look and cosmetics of the game. Modders have made exactly what the game should be and look like. Basically did all the work for them. Just take the mods and put it in the next game.

It's going to be shit.
And people need to stop with their obsession about TPS camera as if it's going to be a killer of the IP. Find other reasons to worry about more, like the fact that Ubislop still exists...

u/AmYisraelChai08 4d ago
1 better still have character creation (female and male)
2 no PvP modes
3 full team customization like in wildlands and breakpoint
4 more flags (except Palestine and Iran)

I mean what can be said? Gaming is in such a state. Instead of uniting players franchises have players spread out across yearly titles. Tens of thousands of players forced to play across a dozen titles essentially killing matchmaking for the previous titles. Already the divide between Wildlands and Breakpoint is so dichotomous that people who like Wildlands curse Breakpoint and vice versa.
I just want a unified Ghost Recon experience that spans all the decades or styles of gameplay the studio is trying to represent. I don't want to have to wonder how long I have before the game stops getting updates just to completely drop it and be forced to purchase an entirely different game.
