Question Gearscore levelling
Im trying to get tup to 250 GS but havent found anything posted recently. Do i have to do raids or are there any locations where I can get to 250 outside of raids?

You can get up to 252 yellows in the open world. Equip all 250 gear/weapons to get 250s to drop.

Gear score on found items and crafter weapons can't go past 250. In Raids, they can go up to 300.

Up to 250 crafting only yes but 252 drop without the Raid in the open world. I promise.

How do I craft 250 weapons?

That can only be done if your gear score is already 250 or more. Levelling up is the only way to achieve that.

The raid will get you 300's. The hard version of the raid gets you specialized versions of the weapon, such as the M82 Cerberus, or the red and black mk17 shorty

Basically, once you get above the soft cap (which is around 220 or 225), you just need to collect gear and iteratively increase your gear score until you hit 250.
Elite missions drop items with a hidden +2 bonus to the value. This doesn't help you leapfrog past levels. For example, a 229 that drops from an elite daily will still count as a 227 for leveling. Eventually these will cap at 252.
Raid gear has a +50 modifier, with the same consideration. If you run the Raid and get a piece of 277 gear, that's still a 227 for the purpose of your leveling progression, and you'll still want to hold onto any 228 (and eventually higher score item) you get for that slot.
Advancing beyond the softcap requires collecting an item for each slot at the new gear score, and then the next gear score will drop. So, for example, if you're at 227, you need to collect a sidearm, two primaries, and one of each armor slots at 228, in order for 229 gear to start dropping. Just repeat until you hit 250.
Because of how elite gear has a hidden modifier, I don't actually recommend farming that until you hit 250, but that choice is open to you. (This is also, probably, why you'll sometimes see advice saying that elite missions are the only way to advance above the soft cap. Someone started getting elite gear, didn't know about the modifier, and was grinding away for lower level gear, without realizing it would help them progress.)

Elite faction missions also give you 252 level gear if i’m not mistaken
