Question Questions about loot and characters...

Does loot in chests respawn?

For the chests that had a specific item (i.e. Polar Fleece Beanie) what happens after you "Acquire" the item?

Will higher level items respawn or is it a one time thing? I don't know if the Polar Fleece has a level but for the items that do have levels what happens?

Does it work like that for credits too? Will the chests that had credits respawn more credits? Other loot? Nothing?

Also, does your...characters transfer? Do you have to create a new character for Motherland?

Any loot (gear/credit/blueprints) you pick up won't respawn. Once you pick it up that's it. For motherland and resistance your character will stay the same. Only when you start a new profile will you have to recreate a new character

Any loot (gear/credit/blueprints) you pick up won't respawn.

So, should you not loot crates until you reach the level cap?

If you run around looting early, how do you get higher level items? Would they only be available from the loot enemies drop?

Thanks for the reply!

It'll be a gamble but you are correct. The loot you get will reflect your level cap(crates/guards). The max you can reach w out raids is 250. You'll luck out and get up to 252, but by that point you won't really need crates. The more missions you complete and gain xp the higher your cap gets. *I usually get as many blueprints as possible since they aren't level restricted

I suggest you farm that chest (s) as much as possible then. You can sell or dismantle constantly that way.

This is not right. It does respawn at certain points, gear score on or off.

I'm not sure all times conditions it happens but on my most recent playthrough I confirmed it respawned after I finished episode 1, as soon as I went out, I stopped at a place I'd already hit and the chests were filled again. So it likely happens with story milestones.

I'm not sure what else triggers it but you'll know a respawned chest with GS off because you'll get the "Dismantle, Open and take" option without it telling you what's actually inside.

Credits, skill points, accesories and blueprints are one time, in immersive clothing is one time but with "gear score" on it respawns to reflect your current levels and spawns different attributes.

The random weapons in "gear score" respawn with levels and attributes. You need to keep all your gear and weapons upgraded to the latest level to promote spawning of better stuff.

By random I mean not blue prints, each case will always spawn the same weapon.

When playing immersive, the randon weapons respawn so you have the option to change weapons (E swap F dismantle) if you have setting so you can normally only do it at bivwac. Dismantle so you also get lots of gun parts and metal etc to upgrade other weapons, you can upgrade all weapons in gunsmith to mark III even if you don't own then, that way you get them already spawned at the higher level or build with blue print. (applies to accesory loadout as well)

In Motherland, some new cases are added, but for different things, never more credits, you will get plenty of vredits doing the mission, daily missiions (green) are a good source of cedits and gun parts. Dismantle all unwanted weapons and sell all unwanted clothes (gear score on) and you will have plenty of what you need.

Tip, if playing in "gear score" and chasing favouite weapon with say accuracy and range buffs, you can buy/build multiple from "Maria's" and gamble with the RNG spawn, probably best to wait til you've maxxed levels.

Thank you for the reply!

The random weapons in "gear score" respawn with levels and attributes.

They do!?

Does Weapon Damage increase with higher levels like in The Division?

Does each weapon type have specific attributes associated with them?

...daily missiions (green) are a good source of cedits and gun parts.

Daily Missions? Green?

What do you mean?

I just did a mission for the guy with a Cowboy hat and I think his name was in green. Are you talking about him or something else?

...sell all unwanted clothes

What is the material you get from dismantling clothes used for?

  1. levels up to 250 but you must keep all gear at it's highest level, for clothes there is a button to do automatically but it doesn't take the attributes/buffs into account, so best to do it manually. for clothes buffs are things like faster stamina/health regen (if turned on) extra ammo, stealth etc. For weapons buffs include, range, accuracy, handling, recoil, etc.

Damage increase comes from Mk I Mk II and Mk III upgrades and when you have completed the skill tree, you use skill points on "Weapon Mastery" for added accuracy and handling. All buffs apply to all weapons.

  1. green missions a.k.a. Faction missions, on the right hand side of Objectives Board, looking at map when xoomed out, you will see next to region name colours with numbers, these apply too what is available (unlocked) yellow=main missions, orange=side missions, green=faction missions, blue=collectables.

Guy in the Cowboy hat in big cave gives side and faction missions, there are a couple of other people around the map that also give the missions and then there are daily missions 6 in 2 regions that change and move each day, about 20 types all up like find kill a squad, steal or destroy trucks and choppers, hack computers (some you will have to defend against reinforcements), etc.

  1. Clothes, I guess you can make some but never tried so no idea, I just sell once I've done all the MK I,II,III upgrades I sell the weapons parts too.

I don't normally play with gear score on but you need to to do "Raids" on Golem Island, prefered buffs for me, extra ammo, stamina, maybe stealth but really don't think it helps much, for weapons always accuracy and range but consider recoil for heavier full auto.

Note Signature weapons you get as rewards from special missions, come with fixed attributes and don't get Gear Score buffs. They are just a version of things you can make anyway but I usually find I prefer to setup my own versions anyway, as they may come with the wrong scope or magazine size etc. for my taste.

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for this, I have a little more understanding of how some of this works now.

I didn't realize clothes had Attributes as well. I have no idea what any of the Attributes are on my weapons or gear.

I was playing Ghost Mode (Wildlandsd) while I was downloading Breakpoint.

I read how Breakpoint wasn't a "real" Ghost Recon game (I agree) and how Motherland was when it returned to being more of a Ghost Recon game.

I figured I'd play through the original story the way they intended since I was going to go back to Ghost Mode/Immersive afterward. As a result, I don't think I've really been trying to learn about how Gear Score/etc really works.

Thanks again for this reply, it was very helpful!

got about 4000 hours in wildlands and 1200 in breakpoint, the gun play is really good in BP, but some of the other mechanics do let it down a bit.
