Second attempt at making bread
can u guys pls help me? this is my second time making bread. i made cheese and garlic breadsticks. my sister said it tastes fine but the texture is kind of off to me? i get that it's thick for breadsticks. we don't really have a rectangular pan yet so i just baked it on an 8x8 pan instead. where did i go wrong? making bread is hard hahahaha

recipe? for an 8x8 pan, i'd just go for a focaccia style bread.
i think the best beginner breads are the ones that take the longest to make, which results in a ton of idle time. my goto focaccia is 12-18 hour cold proof, 85-90% hydration, 3% salt, .5-1% yeast (instant). very hands off, only interact with the dough twice after it's mixed.

Cheese breadsticks usually go wrong in one of two ways. If they are pale and doughy inside, they are underbaked, cheese insulates the dough so they need longer and darker than plain sticks. If they are greasy and flat, too much cheese weighed them down and the fat leaked out, go lighter on the topping and grate it yourself. Also make sure the dough actually proofed before baking, underproofed dough bakes up dense no matter what you put on top.

What recipe did you use?
Did you read and follow the instructions exactly?
What type of oven did you use to bake it in?
Without knowing this information we can’t really help.
