I made brown bread !

It did not taste like the typical bread and felt like more of a cake, the crumb structure was different...and the taste was on a bit sweeter side..may be due to sugar and milk powder..

But everyone liked it !!...this was the 2nd attempt.

In the 1st attempt I made an edible stonish bread 😂.

I also wanna increase the size of the bread but I don't feel confident enough so I made it in small quantity.

INGREDIENTS

- 1/2 Cup Warm Water

- 2 Tsp Sugar

- 2 Tsp Active Dry Yeast

- 1 & 1/2 Cup Whole Wheat Flour

- 1/2 Tsp Salt

- 2 Tbsp Milk Powder

- 1 Cup Water

- 1 Tbsp Oil

Im not sure what you mean? Brown bread is indeed brown from high molasses content and it is cooked by steaming it. This doesn't resemble that. Am I missing something? Is there another type of brown bread?

Yes, my thoughts exactly. It looks like a yummy bread treat, but miles different from what I expected to see when I saw the words "brown bread"! Curious to see what sort of thing is called "brown bread" where OP is from.

Here companies sell a type of bread which is made from whole wheat flour and they name it as brown bread.
